Is my son missing something?

My son is an SPA student. He did this all himself, the process he followed was the one in the web-site. There was a list of “things to do” prior to orientation (like the ID picute, setting up e-mail). He followed those instructions, picking things he was interested in, then picking what classes he wanted to take fall semester. He got a schedule on line which looked fine to him, but then he got a phone call from his advisor who reviewed his schedule and had some reccommendations for changes. The advisor changed things right while they were on the phone. My son now has his fall schedule set. We questioned how “set” it was without yet taking the placement tests. Because of his AP’s from last year, and grades from this year, the advisor felt like placing out of Math and English would probably happen. If, by chance, that didn’t happen, my son could just pick up those classes in the spring. I figured the schedule wouldn’t really be delt with until orientation, but I was wrong. It was a very easy process he did himself. We are still meeting with the advisor at orientation, but it’s my understanding his schedule is set.
