is it a decent enough Uni to attend for about a year or two with a view to transfer

Depends on your definition of decent. I wouldn’t be interested in it, personally, but a person with average grades and test scores would probably be well served there. Look at the ACT range and you can figure out how selective a college is and, by extension, get a rough approximation of their course rigor. North Park’s is 19-25. The average ACT nowadays is just under 21, which means North Park’s student population is slightly above average. I wouldn’t call it a prestigious college, but it’s still quite a bit better than, say, a community college.

Also, another thing to be aware of is the price. North Park’s sticker price is a fairly average $30,000, but it doesn’t look like they’re particularly generous with financial aid.

By the way, I don’t have any personal experience with the college; I’m just pulling statistics from College Navigator. It may have certain programs that are much stronger than the college as a whole. That’s for you to research.
