Hey guys, I just got invited to the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science’s Excel Program and I wanted to know if it’s a paid program. Personally, I would really love to attend this program as it seems that it would really be beneficial to me in my upcoming years at Northwestern (go wildcats!), preparing me for the rigorous classes and making some connections before school starts. But I would also like to have some money to go to college with as it would be a financial burden on my mother if I were to attend this program and not work during the summer (i.e. she would have to gather up some money for me to go off to college with). Alternatively, I would find a job during the summer to have some spending money to lessen the burden on my mother. But if the program is like a paid intership, then it would be a great win-win situation.

It’s not paid, but it’s all expenses paid. The concept is it prepares you to do well when you actually start college.

arbiter213, what does “all expenses paid” mean? Including room and board or even travel cost?

That’s actually nice to know arbiter. But is the program good enough to forgo getting money for college?
