is open education recognized in US ?

Hi ,

I am a students in Cairo university open education center at Egypt , it works with credit hour system and its degree is approved from higher education authorities in Egypt

it is called open education because :

1-it has an open door policy , just you have to passed high school to be eligible
2- there is no attendence requirement it is via distance learning

My question is that type of education commonly recognized in US ? and would i transfer credits from it to a US public college in acse i meet all requirements

my question is general and not specefic

Each college and university in the US sets its own policy about transfer credits. You do have to ask each one separately. Generally speaking, if the degree programs are accepted by the ministry responsible for supervising institutions of higher education, then the degrees awarded are recognized in other countries.

There are many open admission, distance education, and online programs in the US. None of those factors automatically invalidates a course of study.

You may want to contact [World Education Services - International Education Intelligence](http://www.Wes.org) or another evaluation service, and ask how your program normally is evaluated.
