is Orietnation a requirement for new students?

<p>I just got a post card stating it’s required… :expressionless: The thing is, I don’t want to travel 2 hours to Merced just to come back and travel 2 hours again when the date to go to college comes (btw does anyone know when it starts? Is it Aug 20th?).
fyi… $70 fee per student/$60 per guest

<p>i think it starts july 20th,and yes it is complete milkage, they got to make up for a lack of alumni donating LOL</p>

<p>No, I don’t mean when the Orientations starts, I mean when the Fall '07 semester starts. Does any of the other UCs have this kind of fees for an “Orientation”?</p>
