Are we talking about actually paying $100k per year or $100k total?
I really can’t see how $400k for an undergraduate degree is worth it. But if that kind of money is no skin off you back, go for it!
This 2023 thread really stuck in my head: Difficulty justifying the cost
The parent was wondering if they could justify the cost of $348k on Notre Dame.
IIRC, some posters said it was worth it for the experience and connections. Spending $348k on an undergraduate degree on one of my kids would never had been an option for my spouse and I.
But I remember thinking, that is a lot of money for an “experience”. For 4 years. And that if I had that kind of money, maybe spending $100k or $200k on school and giving the kid $200k or $300k towards a house would be a better investment… and a 30 year experience.
As usual, it depends on the parents, the finances, and the kid.
