Is "perfumery" a real word?

like “butchery”, etc…
is it a real word; I’ve been seeing it everywhere I go.

according to my spell checker it is.
how do you hear it everywhere though?

on signs actually. I’d be walking in the street and see 5 or six adjoining shops all selling perfume. They all have “perfumery” written on their signs. I’d never seen it before so I was just wondering.

I’ve never heard of it before.

neither had I; till yesterday.
That and meatery (which I’m pretty sure is not a real word).

I don’t think meatery is…

and dictionary.com doesn’t either.

(I hope they aren’t the same place?)

lol. I doubt that. They were a few blocks apart.

www.google.com

what’s your point? I think I know how to google stuff.
This way I ask actual people insted of a machine.

Half Merinated Chicken

My brother and I debated what that sentence means for nearly an hour. Does it mean that there is a half chicken that is fully merinated or a full chicken that is half merinated.
My US History teacher didn’t know the answer either.

hmm… my first thought on looking at it is a full chicken marinated…

but can’t it still be a half chicken fully marinated?
I’m suddenly surprised that I didn’t ask the guy selling if I could see it. That would have solved the problem lol.

but then it should say “half a marinated chicken.”

and actually "half marinated chicken doesn’t saying anything bout being whole. it could be just a piece of chicken that is half marinated.

maybe. But it’s still vague.
It was too expensive anyway…and I don’t even know what marinated means.
