I took the first grammar test from this book and it had loads of printing errors such as lines where they were supposed to be. Also, they underline excess words. For example, on page 430 #27:

The desolate landscapes portrayed in many of Ernsts’ later works suggest the destruction…

A) No change
B) Ernsts’ later works
C) the later work of Ernst’s
D) Ernst’s later works

Really, none of the answer would work because they don’t include “of”. I’ve seen this many times throughout this single test, which is throwing me off. The correct answer is D and I see why, but it is still wrong is it doesn’t have “of.” Does anyone think this book is good?

I used this book, and I got a 33 Composite. I got a 36 on Reading, 33 on Math, 32 Writing, 30 Science, and a 34 with Writing and Reading combo. I have been accepted to every school I applied to, so far the most prestigious being UCLA as an “out of stater.” I thought it was a fantastic book. It was fast, fun to read (well, as fun as a prep book can be), and it really seemed to help a lot! Good luck!

I used one of the older versions for my ACT two years ago… I scored in the mid 20s to low 30s… That was when I was 12, though.

So I would say it is pretty good.

I bought the PR: Cracking the ACT 2009 Edition and I really, really don’t like it. I don’t like the setup or the tone. I hate how it rags on the SAT for a whole chapter. Look, I get it. Can we start the test prep now?
