There’s more to it than just that.

rice is never easy to get into…but they’re big on essays

if u got good EC’s too and good recs/essays, u should be pretty well off

nothing is “easy” to get in because it all depends what the college wants at the moment, or what mood the admission commitee is in

No school that rejects almost 80% of its applicants should ever be considered “easy.” Admissions to some majors (engineering and the sciences) is also more competitive at Rice than others.

With that said, in the past, there has been a higher admit rate for ED - 32% in 2006 according to US News. This year, however, Rice has ended its Intermediate Decision program which functioned as sort of an EA in addition to ED. That may make ED a little tougher than in the past if many who would have gone ID in the past now switch to ED.

Your stats are certainly within range, but as others have said, there are many other components of the application.
No, rice is not “easy to get in” to. However if what you meant to ask was whether you had a good shot of being admitted ED, then the answer is yes. It’s not a definite, though.

Nope, it’ll be quite the contrary if all you’ve got is your scores and GPA.

Don’t underestimate Rice, you’re stats aren’t sufficiently high enough to guarantee you a place there, so work at the application like it’ll be the hardest thing for you to get in.

I didn’t get into rice, and I did get into a few ivies. It’s most definitely not a sure thing, rice is a darn good school.

I got into Rice and two ivies to be exact (Cornell and Penn). Rice is very selective–do not underestimate it. It has some of the friendliest people you will ever encounter. However, if you are looking for people in your neighborhood on the east coast to say WOW that you go there, then you are probably looking at the wrong school. At my competitive high school, when I got in, people looked at me if I was in outer-space when I said I was considering going there.

Good luck!
