Old policy take top 10% or SAT I 1300 + applicants automatically.
Is it still good for new SAT?

wow 1300+ used to automatically get in?

toka, looks like we are both from CA. i dont think the top 10% policy was for anybody but texans, so it would probably be the same for the 1300+ policy?

i got 2010 on my sat… 720 m, 640 cr, 650 writing

yes, although obviously not 1300/2400, but 1300 on Math and Verbal.

Do they mix and match? because I have a 1300 if you take my best scores on 2 different sittings.

They don’t mix and match. The 1300+ automatic acceptance was for Texas residents only. Still, someone with that kind of score and the grades to go with it would have a good chance even if they were out of state.

i’ve a 2140, (1430 m+v) but a not-so-good essay. top 5% in my class. good recs. i need a lotttt of aid and am an international student. my grades are good (A’s and B’s… for A-levels tht’s reallly good!)… however my latest grades which haven’t been sent yet aren’t so good! :(

can i get into RPI with aid?

What is RPI, Aaron?

oh i meant for this to be written in the “Rensselaer Institute of Technology” thread. but i’m applyin to TAMU as well. will TAMU take me with a signifcant amount of aid?

oopss… i meant Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute!!.. I’m not well informed about colleges so spare me! :)

how long does TAMU take to make a decision btw?

Aaron,
I doubt anyone here will be able to tell you whether A&M will take you or whether they will give you a lot of aid. Have you talked to someone in the International Students’ office? I think they could help you find out what you want to know.

I emailed the university and it seems like I’ll only be eligible for aid/scholarships once I’ve been there for a year! There is, from what I know, nothing available for prospective internationals. You’ve to be enrolled to get aid! :(

Waiting for my decision… maybe I could take some loan for the first year or sth.
