Is SAT I subject score variety good?

Hi, I’ve taken the SAT and got 2020 the first time and 2070 the second time the next month. Upward trend good right?.. But this is what i got for the separate subjects.

1st time:

Critical Reading 570
Math 690
Writing 760

2nd time:

Critical Reading 640
Math 800
Writing 630

My critical reading improved by 70 points, my math improved by 110 points and my writing went down by 130 points. As you can see, my math and writing well exceeded the collegeboard’s score range and I took the test one month from the other. My friends told me that college’s see all of your SAT score, but in order to rank you they take your superscore and put it into a formula they use… which in my case would be (2200). Is such contrast within the separate subjects a good thing or a bad thing?

thats kind of lucky it worked out like that. yea, i a lot of colleges do superscore. I think generally, they would rather see straight 600s than a 700 a 600 and a 500, but in your case, your vastly improved superscore would make up for this.

Upward trends don’t really matter with SAT scores – it usually just means you studied.

Depends – a lot of colleges let you choose which scores to send.
