so i took the ACT twice and heard it was not worth doing the SAT. I was wondering if the SAT is required or if the ACT is enough for a hopeful admission. I also got a 27 on the ACT

Hi Kerri from Pitt Admissions - no it’s not required. We do, however, require the ACT writing section if you are an ACT only test taker.

Ok thanks Kerri. Also would you consider an ACT composite score of 27 to be good enough to contend with others for admission?

and when does admission start for the class of 2019?

Look up Pitt’s Common Data Set for ACT score comparison

We will begin to accept applications after June 1.

Hi Kerri will you allow students to self report their transcripts after June 1? Many schools won’t send transcripts until September/October of senior year.

according to cappex and assuming I am reading the chart right, the 25th percentile for ACT scores at Pitt is 25 and the 75th percentile is 30. so your score is in that range, which is good. cappex and other progams, if you create an account, allow you to enter data such as your test scores, class rank, etc, into a computer program that estimates your admissions chances. far from perfect but it will give you an idea of how strong an applicant you are. there is some program called naviance i’ve also heard about but I’m not sure if that program is limited to high schools only.
