OTHER STUFF: ASIAN FEMALE

Also, any essay readers, pm me your email addresses :D

ur summer work at immunology lab looks good, but ur other EC’s are not impressive, since you stopped track junior year. not club presidencies (not required), but you need leadership qualities.

and you’re asian, although it’s easier for asian girls than guys.

I’d suggest you go regular and not early

Why would going regular be more favorable?

because during early, almost all the exceptional and very highly qualified students apply. And they might reject you then and there where they might have accepted you in regular.

Yea, but I heard that if you were rejected early, then it is very likely you would not have survived regular either.

^That’s also what I heard. From a lot of people and DIRECTLY from the admissions officers there. So, I’d apply whenever’s best for you.

But what if I don’t know what’s best for me right now?

How are my chances for both?

bump? …

I say go regular decision - perhaps you can apply somewhere early where you would have a better chance (but that is not binding), and then apply to Stanford come January 1st. Good Luck, this will be a tough year for all of us!

If location is not a major issue, I strongly suggest that any Asian student considers Ivy league, MIT and CalTech first. The main reason is that there are too many high-achieving Asians in the vicinity of Stanford who wants to apply for it and as a results Stanford has to limit the number of these students to achieve diversity.

I know that for MIT EA is around 30% admitted, but I want to do pre-med. Is MIT good for premed? I mean, it just seems like such an engineering school.

Ivy league- except for Yale, all have ED. I really cannot do ED, because I am not sure i can get enough financial aid to go. Also, i have not visited any of the ivy leagues. As for Yale, i’m not so sure that it is easier to get in than Stanford

While your profile may not be all that unusual for Stanford, I’d urge you to apply early. It’ll come down to you making a strong case for yourself in your essays. You have a great progression in your GPA, good APs, respectable SATs, work experience in a Stanford lab with a recommendation from a Stanford professor. What’s not to like?

Having said that, by all means look at schools like MIT, Brown etc.

WHy would applying early be good? My essays are no way NEAR done. It’s so hard to find readers. ahhhhh.

Haha, i love how you chose “respectable” to describe my SAT’s… I know they are not spectacular! :expressionless:
i used to get so mad whenver i talk about my SAT score with people. But i’m not like that anymore…

I completely agree with ProjectStanford…

I’ve decided on Regular. Essays not ready.
if anybody cares LOL
