Is scholarship finalist status (non NMS) an academic honor?

<p>Maybe a stupid question. </p>

<p>If you apply for a competitive scholarship (Presidential scholarship at state U, for example) and make finalist status, does that count as an academic honor to list on one’s mid year report? It’s not NMSF/F, but its not dissimilar in intent.</p>

<p>What about being nominated for certain scholarships by your school teachers/GCs?</p>

<p>In my opinion, if it was based on acadenic merit, then yes, it’s an academic honor that should be placed on a mid-year report. Becoming a finalist IS an accomplishment since you were selected out of a larger pool of applicants.</p>
