Is self-studying worth it?

I’m a junior, and I’m thinking about self-studying 4 AP exams (APES, AP Psych, AP Mac/Mic, AP HG). I am also concurrently enrolled in AP Chem, AP Calc B/C and APLAC. Is it really worth it to self-study those 4 exams and take 7 AP exams this year to bring up my total to 8, or should I just take the exams for the 3 classes I’m taking for a total of 4. I read somewhere that self-studying isn’t extremely beneficial to padding college apps, since the weighted GPA gained from taking AP classes is what colleges look at in terms of APs.

So my question: Is it worth it?

You are actully self-studying 5 AP’s because micro/macro are separate exams, and what’s APLAC?

APLAC is probably one the English ones. Language/Literature and Composition.

yes worth it, very worth it
