Is September Too Late for the ACT?

Will taking the test in September hurt me when applying to college?

No. It doesn’t matter when you take it so long as you do. It seems to me that the best thing to do is take one in your junior year, but taking one in September will give you a chance to retake in October, so long as you register on time. Make sure the September test is available in your state.

Not really. Although if your state u (or any other school in your list) does rolling admissions, and you’re planning to apply, then you want to get your application in early. Most schools that have EA or ED have mid-November to mid-December deadlines, so taking the ACT in September gives you enough time.

Definitely won’t hurt you. Plenty of time to take it in Sept and get your apps in. Plus you can study for it over the summer (not that that’s fun, but you’d theoretically have more time to prep). Go for it.
