Is Sparknote 1000 enough for CR?

A friend kept telling me that Sparknote 1000 is not enough for the vocab part. Other people told me that I should spend my time on something else. (I tried Barron’s and almost fainted.)

What do you think?

its not bad at all, but there will always be some words that don’t appear on SN 1000. It’s all I did, and I got lucky with a little guessing on CR for a projected 19/19 on the sentences, but remember you always have the vocab you’ve accumulated. If you think its not enough you can do like barrons 3500 or something, but i could never force myself to memorize that many…

I agree with cory. It should be enough.

It helped me raise my CR score from a 670 to a 780. And the second time, I felt pretty confident that I didn’t miss any of the sentence completions. Even if I didn’t know the word that was going into the blank, I at least knew that none of the other words belonged in there.

If you study the thousand words, there’s a fairly good chance that you’ll do well. Let’s say that you already know 1-2 words on your own, and you know another 2-3 because of what you studied. Even if you don’t know all the answer choices, you can at least know that some of the words you understand wouldn’t fit, as hatchamadoo said.

you cant know every word (unless u memorize a dictionary). These common words REALLY help though, because you can eliminate really easily. And just remember, it goes from easy to hard. That has saved me many times on practice tests.
