My school used to be very well represented at Stanford with as many as 4 people admitted a year at a semi-competitive public. However, a few years ago a record number of people were accepted and none of them went to Stanford. Since then, there has not been a single student from my school admitted to Stanford although those same students who were rejected were accepted at other top privates. This year at my school, there are a number of people interested in Stanford as their #1 choice, myself included. We all have fairly competitive stats. Will our chances be severely stunted due to Stanford’s bias against our school or is there a chance our genuine interest in Stanford will be seen?

ask your college counselor. How could folks here know what bad blood is on the folder of your school? Lots of things do happen and perhaps if you ask around you will find out the real story.

Stanford has a high enough yield rate not to play silly head games. Dont overthink the process. If you want to show your interest, apply SCEA. Stanford is interesting in getting the best students regardless of school.
