I’m a Junior and I plan on taking the ACT one last time and the SAT once. My current highest ACT score is:
Composite: 32
English:35
Reading: 34
Math: 25
Science: 32
Should I focus on studying hard for the ACT to boost my math score, or should I pool my time into studying for SAT. I only plan on taking the SAT once, and then taking some subject tests. Thanks for the help!
I also know that some have said that the SAT functions sort of like an IQ test, so does that mean studying for it doesn’t make a difference?
For the new SAT, not really. I suggest working on the math section of the ACT so you can get a good ACT score. You can also try an SAT practice test (available on CB’s site) and if it’s something you can score well on, go for it (otherwise don’t).
@MITer94 Thanks for the advice!
My son used the free Khan Academy to study for the SAT and his score rose steadily during the practice tests, with his highest score happily on the real SAT on test day! I am now a fan of Khan Academy for SAT prep. Free and it works-- who could complain?
