Is talking the most effective and satisfying way of communicating with others?

The ‘power of speech’ is said to be the fundamental advantage that the humans have over all organisms on earth. Since communication amongst human beings has become a necessity in this globalized world, utilizing this advantage to its maxima can resolve major differences. The example of Mahatma Gandhi and the recent Indo-China talks buttress the importance of communication via talking.

Mahatma Gandhi, a staunch believer of non violence promoted the idea of taking and sharing beliefs. During the Indian independence struggle, when a certain diaspora sought to end conflicts with the British using violence, Gandhiji, reprimanding stood by the idea that sharing opinions from both sides, and basically just talking would eventually clear a path without obstacles. He later on became the man who helped India achieve its independence. Just talking, gave results that violence never did.

Not just history, but recent times too, reflect the strength of a single talk between two sides having different precepts. An unclaimed territory runs between India and China. Both sides have been claiming this land since years. Troops of soldiers have been placed and evacuated but nothing came out of it until recently, when the Pime Minister of India and the Pesident of China held bilateral talks regarding the area of conflict. Hearing the perspectives that both the sides offered, worked wonders when finally, it was declared that both countries would join hands and create a new committee to make decisions for the land.

The above examples reveal the true power that talking wields over the human mind because after all, talking is just another art of persuasion.
