Is that even possible?

<p>Everyone knows that Harvard had high standards for their students but judges their applicants holistically. </p>

<p>So I was thinking if a student can ever be accepted with any one of these conditions and if so how:</p>

<p>-3.0 or less GPA

  • SAT score lower than 2000
  • No EC’s
  • Has a criminal record
  • Has been suspended/expelled
  • SAT Subject scores lower than 600
  • ACT score lower than 20
  • Offensive essay
  • Bad interview/recommendations</p>

<p>Maybe if a person had a rough childhood, criminal record but then pulled it together in HS and was an amazing student?</p>

<p>Or if they are related to someone famous and donate a billion dollars to Harvard?</p>

<p>Why would Harvard (or any college, for that matter) admit a student with an offensive essay and bad interview/recommendations?</p>

<p>Those items are the death knell of all applications!</p>

<p>3.0 or less GPA if international and a very strange grading system such that that is still a very high class rank, maybe. Probably a few 1950-1990s have sneaked in over ever. (A donor athlete? I feel like I’ve seen “accepted” posts with SATs in that range, but I can’t remember where.) The rest…maybe not.</p>
