Hi, I have been always getting 2000s on the SAT; the last one was 5 days ago. Today, however, I got 2210 on the first test in the blue book_ which is from 2006. I don’t know whether I should be happy or not, but I don’t feel comfortable with this sudden big jump!. I thought the first test in the blue book was so easy compared to other “College Board’s official tests”. Do SAT tests get harder every year? Or I’m just improving?

To see if you’re really improving, take another test or two and see if you get roughly the same score (~2200). I don’t think SAT’s have gotten significantly easier or harder throughout the past several years.

One spike is pretty common – for example, on AIME exams, I was averaging around 6 or 7 (out of 15), managed to score an 11 on the 2010 AIME I. I wasn’t entirely convinced it was due to my improvement, as the 2010 AIME I turned out to be extremely easy. The following year, I completely blew the AIME, partly because it was quite difficult, and I made some dumb mistakes.

I will definitely try another test. Anyways, I believe I got lucky today “because the test was easy”, and that’s what I hate about SAT.
