I went into the ACT without any knowledge of the test, and zero studying this past August and “achieved” a dismal score of 26. Since then, I have been practicing for the next test (October 22) using the Princeton Review. I have only slightly improved in all areas. On the SAT I got a 2350, but on the ACT I am far from a a good score, in fact, far from a decent score. The science aspect is so difficult and the timing seems so much more constrained on the ACT than its counterpart. The only thing I did do well on was the essay, on which I received a score of 12. All my friends tell me not to worry, as I should just send in my SAT score, but I truly feel as though I flunked this ACT. I want to do better but no amount of studying or preparation has seemed to pay off. I am not used to this unusual trend of hard work resulting in little gain. This isn’t so much a question, as it is a rant on my part. Simply put, I am very frustrated with the sub-par scores associated with hundreds of hours of preparation.

Dude … with a 2350 on SAT your scores don’t matter to the Adcoms anymore. So i would rather suggest you to concentrate on other things rather than trying to improve scores.

@treman. i think with sat score 2350 is far more good.so dont get stick with again act .

I don’t understand how that’s possible. What were your subsection scores?

Some people much prefer the SAT to the ACT, just like for some people it’s the other way around. I think it’s because the ACT tests more knowledge (for example, there’s punctuation questions in the English section, and more advanced math in the Math section), whereas the SAT tends to test aptitude more. Anyway, with an SAT score of 2350, you needn’t worry about scoring well on the ACT too - it will be more than enough for just about every adcom.
