Is the beginning of me essay good?

An opinion is someone’s view or judgment on a particular matter. It is something that everyone has, but some are reluctant to share. In middle school the term “opinion” was something I was fond of but I seldom put to use. It wasn’t until I met my middle school history teacher that I learned the true meaning of an opinion.

Towards the beginning or middle school I was always surrounded by friends. I knew these friends very well but most of them barely knew the true me. It wasn’t there fault; it was just that I never gave them a chance to know who I was. I became friends with all of them by basically creating a false personality. From friend to friend I would change. For instance one person could say they liked skiing and I would agree even though I never skied a day in my life. I said things that a particular person would enjoy to hear. I was to afraid people would reject me if I ever disagreed with their opinions or if I ever voiced my own.

The year went by and my middle school got a new history teacher named Mr. Barkley . I was lucky enough to be in one of his classes. On the first day on the job he asked me what I thought about history, unsure on how to answer I shrugged, and thought he would move on to another student but he didn’t. He asked me again and again until I said what I truly thought about history. He told me he liked my idea and moved on to the next student. He did this every day calling on every student until we were comfortable with voicing our ideas. Surprisingly my ideas greatly contributed to his class. I also started becoming more confident and started to voice my opinions outside the classroom.

It is a good essay but it does need to have some errors corrected.
Here are two I saw:
“He told me he liked my idea”= You could just say “He said he liked my idea” Your sentence seemed akward to me.
“wasn’t there fault”= wrong word it should be “their”

yeah pretty good
