<p>In choosing between GaTech and UIUC the only thing that is stopping me from selecting UIUC is the weather…I am an international student from India and have lived in hot conditions…</p>
<p>So does the weather affect the studies negatively?</p>
<p>40K+ students bear it every year…Buy a winter coat, gloves, and boots.</p>
<p>If this last winter is any indication, bring your flip-flops, frisbee, and shades…</p>
<p>This winter was the warmest we’ve had in years. Only 3 snowfalls, I think. And the sun was out almost every day. Last year was the worst I’ve seen. (I was trapped inside my house for 2 days because of the snow.) Illinois winters are usually harsh and it usually stays cold until the end of April, but honestly, you’ll be inside a building with heaters 90% of the time. And the cold only lasts for one season. The summer and the fall seasons are absolutely beautiful by the way, especially in Chicago.
I would prefer having varying seasons than dealing with hot, muggy weather all year round.</p>
