Is the LEAP Engineering program legit?

So I’m currently a junior Urban Planning student realizing that while I can manage working in the planning field for a while, I don’t want it to be my ultimate career. I recently found out about the LEAP program, and I am very interested in applying possibly 2 years after I graduate (to get some experience in my field, or in engineering, establish a network, keep working on my credit score etc). I’m having my doubts about the program though. I feel like I wont get the in depth education a student with 4 year bachelors and a masters degree would get.

I am mostly interested in the Mechanical, and Systems Engineering (MEng) degrees. I would like to work in energy (solar, wind), mechanics, structures, and to some extent maybe agriculture. If I hypothetically were to get in and get my degree from BU, would I be able to get my PE? Is it a legitimate program in terms of being able to get a person from a complete different profession and make them a qualified engineer? In the job market would I be seen equally as any other engineer?
