I heard it is a mixture of both. Is that true?

Dear tygger : Everyone will take the three semester calculus sequence, linear algebra, some type of abstract algebra (ring theory and such), and real analysis (advanced calculus as some call it).

The curriculum offers courses in both the analysis space (geometries, topology, number theory) and applied (probability, statistics, modeling). Actuarial training is not really a focus of the BC curriculum on the whole. As with most undergraduate programs, the mathematics major will take you into both the applied and pure (analysis) spaces.
