We ran into a family with a child who graduated from my children’s school and went to Dartmouth. They report child has been on a non stop party but still managed to get good grades. What say you?

Frat parties are definitely one of the biggest things at Dartmouth. As for getting good grades, that really depends on your major.

Most people are able to find a balance between getting decent grades and keeping some evenings and weekends free to hang out with friends.

If you live in a frat or sorority, it can seem like a constant party at times – especially on weekends.

What does that mean?

Also, whatever you think it means, it is simply what the child’s parents are reporting. It does not necessarily reflect reality.

so he’s getting good grades and having fun. I think the general consensus is that most dartmouth kids are like that.

Sounds like a good combination to me!

“As for getting good grades, that really depends on your major.”

It depends more on the individual person than on the person’s major.

Lol that was my plan! My best term GPA-wise was also when I met my girlfriend, made my best friend, partied a lot, went on two amazing road trips, and had the time of my life.

Dude I totally thought you were a chick.

i think dartmouth students in general work hard, party hard. most don’t let partying interfere too much with their work, but it is very prevalent. but of course there are a lot of students here who don’t party, you just don’t hear about them as much.
