Is the Princeton-party school stereotype real?

Whenever hearing about Princeton I always hear about heavy partying. Is this true haha?

Not really…

There’s a subset of campus (~10-15% of people) that party aggressively, and if you want to be a part of that, you can. But 70% of people study pretty hard and then go out on weekends (either to the party scene or something lower-key) when they have time, with another ~15-20% focusing aggressively on just academics.

Also depends on what your point of reference is for “heavy partying”. Are you comparing to ASU or Caltech?

15% of Princeton students party aggressively? That number seems shockingly high!

Yeah. That’s my back-of-the-envelope math, anyway.

It may also be that I’m boring and so “party aggressively” may mean different things to you and me :P

It’s not a “party school” per say (obviously) but there is a small subset of people who do party a lot and really enjoy it
Source: I have a relative at Princeton

Hmm… people definitely party here, but I have certainly never heard that stereotype about the school.

lolllllllllll
