DS, I think it was the third season. Many thought she was a shoo-in to win after this

I think she was also kicked out in the Final six week. Adam stole her from Cee Lo.

I liked Kimberly.
I kind of still like India second best behind Sawyer…even though she doesn’t deliver.
Maybe India should just sing that Billy Joel tune that turned around 4 chairs…over and over.
India has the wrong coach and she needs to sing songs that fit her. Whatever India sings in the shower is what she should sing on the show.
Xiggi, that was an incredible performance. I still can’t believe she wasn’t at least the runner-up.
@xiggi, Wow! Amanda sang beautifully! She looks fantastic! Who won that year?
What is Amanda doing now?
@dstark, now you know why some of us are jaded when it comes to the eventual winners.
Cassadee Pope, the cruise ship singer, unfortunately won that season. Blech.
Cassadee Pope
@Consolation, yeah…
Amanda was fantastic. I didn’t watch that year.
Hmmmm…I don’t think I have seen very many people sing that well over the last few seasons
The Amanda season also had a little middling Scottish hobbit named McDermott to go along Cassadee the cruise ship queen. He finished second. Nicholas was a darling eccentric and I liked him. It was also the season of the Avery dude who came back tonight.
The rocker style simply not worked nor works. By the way, Kimberley was better tonight but eminently lacking in likability. The choice was between a better vocalist with a grating persona and a so-so singer without any personality or presence.
I am sorry, Dstark, but India has made a mess of songs, misses notes, and is over her head. Did you really listen to her last three songs? How does one butcher Glory that bad? Not technically but by rendering it emotionless and tepid.
Not sure what Aguilera could do to save India - short of singing for her. She has been at the bottom for weeks.
I loved Nicholas David. He was a talented eccentric and he was going to remain one, no matter what. Terry McDermott was a good singer, but out of his time. He needed to teleport back a couple of decades.
I have no problem with the idea that people on The Voice could become niche successes, rather than the next Bruno Mars. People like him don’t come along too often. Look at Pentatonix, the superb winners of The Sing Off. They are having a great ride.
I think that Christina pretty much threw Kimberly under the bus tonight. I object to the idea that she has a “grating persona.” I find her charming.
@Xiggi, I also said India doesn’t deliver.
I can always hope.
Gotcha, I thought you meant India was second only to Sawyer. I understand the hope part.
Consolation, I thought Kimberly’s persona was somewhere between grating and charming, but leaning toward grating. Maybe grating is too harsh a word. I’m going to call it uninteresting.
I will greatly miss Kimberly’s vocal ability but will not miss her song choices, her awkward stage movement, her tutus, her short-cropped hair, as well as her… personality. Kimberly was so gifted vocally but I don’t think she was open to creating a new, improved version of herself. She seemed to want to be the same type of performer she had created on her own as if to say “I’m awesome just the way I am”.
eyemamom, Interesting observation that Kimberly may be in trouble since she might be splitting votes with other “screamers”. I would be completely on board with you if Meghan and Koryn had been in the bottom, since both of them are also screamers compared to India, who was also in the bottom.
xiggi, You were not very enthusiastic about Kimberly and kind of saw her demise coming. Good call.
I definitely thought that Koryn and India should have gone home before Kimberly.
Now if Sawyer can just obtain a fair amount of success after he wins this season…

Sawyer mania already happening here. http://www.timesunion.com/news/article/Fans-already-lining-up-for-Sawyer-Frederick-s-6245935.php#page-1
Jshain, I agree with you, and I admit that I was surprised by the poor reactions to her last night. I did believe, although I did not care for those songs, that people would support her more. I thought she would be around a couple more weeks and best India for sure, and probably Koryn.
I did use the word grating, and people have been right in saying such term was too harsh. What I meant is that there was something about her look and tone of voice that was not too pleasing. I do think that in general we might be more prone to overlook such things when contestants are better looking (through a subjective and personal lens) For instance, I think if India looked like Deanna, she might have avoided the save process for more weeks.
Huh, I think India is WAY more beautiful than Deanna! Although admittedly Deanna had those legs.
I think if Kimberley looked like India, she would be in the final 2.
I totally agree!
But isn’t it interesting that looks and legs matter in the end, even on The Voice?
Looks do matter to a small degree but not much it seems. Deanna and her legs are no longer there. Sawyer is doing wonderfully with the Voice fan base. He has a cute charm, mainly based on his down-to-earth confidence and comfort but he doesn’t have boy band looks. CWB for last season is not what I would call a looker.
Beauty must be in the eye of the beholder.
I think Deanna was beautiful every time, not just because of how she looked, but her sweet personality. India was beautiful sometimes, but she did her hair very unattractively other times. She seemed very nice too. Kimberly appeared very unattractive to me, not just of how she looked, but she came across as rather obnoxious, arrogant and full of herself, in my view. A person could be gorgeous, but if they are too full of themselves, it definitely makes them look bad to me.
