CWB was def not my style, but he didn’t start really sparkling until he got cleaned up and modernized a few decades.
Each of them have something about their looks that was appealing, even if they aren’t models. Sawyer has long (clean) hair and a sweet smile, India has a beautiful face, Kimberly had a fit little body, Deanna has those legs and lips …
I haven’t seen a really large person get to the finals of these shows in a while. Was it Brian on the Voice? And does anyone remember Mario Dominic on that singing show that Kelly Clarkson was a judge? He has fantastic talent and an incredible personality and yet he didn’t advance, but I would love to see him go far.
It was the US producer’s answer to have a counterpart to Paul Potts. I also think that the US producers have desperately tried to find a US version of Adele in terms of size. And Leona Lewis in terms of talent – without any success I’d say in both cases.
As far as the show, I happen to think that the show hits its seasonal reset. Except for Sawyer who seems to collect the iTunes trophies without much regard to his performances, I think anybody else is subject to be sent home quite easily. It is good to remember that Joshua earned a miraculous save after perhaps having the worst performance and that India has more lives than Garfield.
While I think India has been the weakest by far in the last weeks --and not that talented-- she could survive a bit longer with a subtle changes in her presentation and more popular song choices. You never know that she might discover an ounce of real emotion and connect to the audience a bit.

Not sure if India’s first song will work for her. The second one might.
Joshua probably can afford to screw up the Masterpiece and grab his votes with Bonnie Rait. That IS in his wheelhouse. He really does not have the chops to pull the first one off. Sawyer might have used that song!
Looking forward to Meghan torturing her vocal apparatus. Hope she fares better than Sam. Fwiw, Blake is starting to play his aces. The second song should work wonders!
@xiggi, looks like India is going for it with her choice of Gravity. I don’t love that song but Sara sang the heck out of that song. That is going to be a tough comparison for India. India is attacking her weakness of not connecting emotionally. It’s do or die,
“When I Paint My Masterpiece” was written by Bob Dylan. I think that and the Bonnie Raitt song are both suited to Josh’s voice. Also looking forward to Sawyer’s take on “For What it’s Worth”.and both of Koryn’s choices.
Well, it will be to Joshua to convince us. I am afraid -again that that song is smack in the Sawyer’s wheelhouse, and that the syrupy register of Joshua might not work THAT well:
At least, he could not be as bad as last week’s first song! But again, it’s a wide open competition and today could have its share of surprises. There are no glaring mistakes or great risks taken. Could Adam have given up on the falsettos after all?
On a somewhat related note, saw a headline today that this will be the last season of American Idol on Fox. Good riddance. Stopped watching that show a long time ago.
I turned on a little late.
Joshua did fine with the Bonnie Raitt song. I really liked Koryn’s U2 song. Didn’t feel like she was projecting or whatever as much as she does sometimes, which was good.
I would definitely appreciate the updates, since I’m going to be airborne and will miss the entire show until I can see it on DVR next week (laptop is useless to watch it on). And do it for me and others, not dstark, because you know he obviously doesn’t deserve them.
She was my least favorite so far. I hope Pharell stays around. I really like him. Does everyone else have really stupid Sprint commercials on this show?
