The highlight of the overly long and drawn out finale for me was John Fogerty singing Creedence hits with Sawyer. Fogerty still rocks at 70 years old!
Oh, and fast forward was the only other thing that made it watchable.
Fogerty did show how far Sawyer still has to go.
As far as watchable, I think you might add the Kelly duets, and especially the one with Meghan who held her own. Albeit always unfair to the contestants, she does a very good job in making them enjoyable. She remains a super star.
Fwiw, in the judges performances, I had to pay close attention to Christina. I thought it was Meghan!
Oh yeah, Sawyer seemed utterly overwhelmed in his duet with Fogarty, starstruck and almost breathless. But it was quite endearing in a way. He was so guileless, so lacking in “cool” stage presence. His performance with Fogarty just showed a kid who in a few weeks has been catapulted from homeschooling and farmers markets to working with music superstars and singing with an icon.
It will be interesting to see how he develops as a professional, whether he becomes a star or fades away after an initial success as so many do.
I hope he stops putting his hand to his heart, though. Once or twice would be okay, but doing it a lot throughout a song is distracting…like he doesn’t know what to do with his hands without the guitar.
I just saw Sawyer singing on a charity show for raising money for children for a dollar for Red Nose Day. Cool that they already had the winner lined up to be an artist for this event.
Shoot, it is Monday and we do not have the chance to “b!tch” about how bad the contestants and the judges are. Where is India when we need her?
I was worried thatI missed it. Just kidding, but I’m kind of glad it’s over. I don’t watch much TV, but I got hooked on The Voice. I think I’m getting over it, but we shall see when the next one starts.
I was hoping it was news on the judges. I’d like to see Christina and Adam take off next season. It’s quite a hefty payday so I hope they saves some money to squeak by for a season.
Sad news …“‘The Voice’ Contestant Anthony Riley Dead at 28”

Oh that is beyond tragic. He was so talented, he would have gone far had he stayed in the competition. The thought that someone younger than my eldest felt that life was too painful to continue just takes my breath away. Kudos to NBC for paying for his rehab stint.
Sad that he was so isolated it took days for someone to find him, per the above yahoo link.
That’s really too bad to hear.
What a shame. (I am encouraged to hear that the show was so supportive of him, though.)
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert divorcing!
That’s so sad. These celebrity marriages don’t seem to last long. Seems quite often that someone can’t keep their pants on.
I didn’t read toledo’s link or any of the stories, only the headlines. Seems like the rumor mill has been hinting at this for some time. Maybe that explains his (apparent) increased alcohol consumption on the show? Maybe that’s why Miranda wasn’t a guest coach on Team Blake this past season?
I’ve heard that happens a lot.
To be fair, when you have two people who have public, demanding careers, its hard to find the right spouse among those who have the same careers. Some careers demand 110% of your commitment capacity, and if you have two of them, and then children, something is going to have to give.
Regrettable, but true.
Their relationship started while he was still married to is first wife, so commitment apparently isn’t important to him. I wonder if he’ll be soon seen canoodling with one of the young’uns he mentored on the show…(I have no idea, just wanted the chance to use the word “canoodling.”). At least there are no kids involved.
It does seem next to impossible for some to keep their zippers zipped. I suppose much of it has to do with far more opportunity with young and attractive members of the opposite sex than most non public figures get. Probably similar to politicians. And if someone is a narcissist, they will never have a marriage that lasts. Not saying that about either of those two, just making a general point.
I love this comment. I was just thinking about this today. There was a thread on traits to look for in a mate. Somebody who is a narcissist is somebody you want to stay very far away from. That was a thought that came into my mind today.
