Anyone watch Monday night? I liked the 45-year-old guy named Manny Cabo (Team Adam). Thought Madi was really talented but didn’t think she had any stage presence. Hoping Lyndsey does well since she lives close by (Vacaville CA). I keep asking myself, will this person get lots of iTunes downloads if/when the time comes?
I watched last night, but I didn’t really remember anyone who actually blew me away. Last week, the country guy who was in the American Airlines crash in Little Rock AR, impressed me a lot. Not just singing, but he has an extremely likeable personality. Of course, hearing about that crash will be something that people always remember about him. I flew right past that area that night, and I vividly remember looking at the weather radar over Little Rock, thinking, “I hope everyone is staying away from that! What a massive and violent storm.”
I also liked this guy that Consolation mentioned:
“The guy who sang Chandelier got better and better as he went on. I was unimpressed at first, but he does have a great voice. When Pharrell asked if he’d like to share some of his story, honestly, I thought he was going to say he was a trans man”
However, I didn’t think he was a trans man, but just a guy with a high voice. I was really annoyed by Gwen’s weird reaction to him, and it was the first time I decided that I didn’t care for her too much. “Oh my GOD, oh my GOD! You look nothing like your voice!” I found it quite insulting. Perhaps in her world people with amazing voices are skinny, botoxed and beautiful, but that’s not the world that most of us live in. Making such a big deal about it, talking about being different seemed creepy, and that’s why I think he picked Adam, who just raved about his voice.
The blind auditions continue tonight (Tuesday)…
Watching their faces when they turn around is priceless. Did you hear Adam say he tried to hide his enthusiasm on one contestant, but they all ended up turning their chairs? The other thing I noticed is that is they don’t like the way someone looks, they don’t try very hard to convince them to pick their team. Does Pharrell seem to follow Gwen in turning his chair?
I think there are a lot of interesting contestants this season am looking forward to the competition.
I’m being a preteen and making my own team on the app. I can pick 5. I am having a hard time with just 5.
It’s obvious to me that Blake and Gwen have a thing. I hope Adam can try and not be an a hole this season. He was telling one contestant how important song choice was, which I thought was rich coming from him and how he torpedoed his own team with horrible songs.
I’m not just choosing the good voice, but I know the 45 yo won’t win, and if you have a great voice, but I find you annoying I won’t pick you… (blonde twins)
@eyemamom I couldn’t believe Adam’s comment on song choice. I flew off the couch on that one.
Blake and Gwen have a thing?!! Are you serious? Like an attraction?
@toledo do you not read the gossip rags at the grocery store? They’re both gething divorced and allegedly in a relationship together.
I have really enjoyed the blind auditions this round. I never warmed to Sawyer or any of the others last spring. Absolutely loved the twin duo! I hope that Adam doesn’t throw them under a bus.
I knew about Blake’s divorce. There is no way I can see the two of them together. Now I have more to “watch” on the show.
I am really surprised that blonde twins Andi and Alex picked Adam. He seems to be the most ill-suited of all. That was funny, as eyemamom mentioned, that Adam was touting his song choice skills as his biggest asset! I was also surprised that Viktor (Team Adam) and Celeste (Team Pharrell) only got 1-chair turns.
Blake seems to flirt with everything that moves so I don’t see anything that indicates anything real between him and Gwen. I guess I also have a hard time understanding how she could possibly be attracted to him, although on an intellectual level, they are probably a good match. I didn’t see anyone last night that I would champion. The pretty boy from Budapest will be around for a while no doubt.
I may be blind, but I don’t detect any chemistry between Gwen and Blake.
There were a lot of good singers this week. The girl who sang the Megan Trainor song stands out in my memory.
I really did not like the twins.
I agree that Adam’s remark about song choice was an absolute howler: Blake is the king of song choice, while Adam, as we all know, has tanked any number of good singers with his appalling choices.
If it was the Monday night performance (Lips Are Moving?), that was Lyndsey Elm from Vacaville CA, just a short drive from me. Liked her voice and loved her stage presence! I agree about the twins. Didn’t think their audition performance was that strong nor worthy of a 4-chair turn however I think they will get better and hopefully stolen by a coach that will develop them.
Yes, it was Lyndsey Elm from Vacaville. I thought she was outstanding in both voice and stage presence.
The Budapest/NYC guy was very good, but so were several others. The general level of talent is higher and higher.
PS I could not stand the girl with double digit APs who sang the Melanie song. She was off-putting in every possible way. Glad she wasn’t chosen!
Tuesday’s blinds should be renamed “Alternative Indie Night”. Sure seemed like they had their fair share of singers in this genre.
“PS I could not stand the girl with double digit APs who sang the Melanie song. She was off-putting in every possible way. Glad she wasn’t chosen!”
Oh, me too. I am so familiar with that type of personality, that I just had to groan. Very glad she didn’t get put through.
I have to disagree with others opinions about the twins. I thought those girls were absolutely adorable and sounded amazing. I was jealous that I didn’t have a twin like that, who I was so close to. I thought they were sweet, and hope that Adam doesn’t destroy them with his idiotic song choices.
When the overachiever failed to get any chair turns, I said to my D, “I bet here are quite a few of her fellow students who couldn’t be happier,” and she responded, “All of them.”
I didn’t care for the twins because I am out of patience for women who sing in high pitched little girl voices, no matter how well they may harmonize. There are just far too many female singers of that ilk in today’s music world.
Did anyone notice without Christina judging there are very few screaming belters?
I noticed that there are very few belting divas and a lot more country than I remember in the past.
