I really like the depth of young indie and country singers this season. The ladies seem to be much stronger than last season. Liked Shelby, Amy, Summer, and Sydney.
I’m playing along on the app. My 5 team members are evan, chris, shelby, Amy and Morgan.
Lots of good talent this season, I think Gwen has the weakest team overall.
I was so indifferent in the spring, but I have loved the blind auditions this fall. Especially liked first guy in the vest (Dustin?) and Shelby last night.
I think the singers are better this time than last spring. The previews of the knockout rounds look very promising. There are certain singers I liked better in blinds than others, but I am looking forward to hearing them all again. I agree with those who say Adam doesn’t choose songs well … I do hope his artists stand up to him if he gives them songs that just don’t work (if they even can … not sure if that they actually have any say).

Does anyone else also think this season doesn’t have the quality of African-American artists as in prior seasons?
We have 3 of the same 5, pretty interesting.
It was tough picking because I was forgetting how much I liked someone from a few weeks back. However, no matter how good someone was people over early 30s and unattractive people won’t make it far in general. There is always someone who gets through who I don’t think sings as well because they’re attractive. …hello deanna, or some odd character. …I mean you sham wow, but in general the chair turn portion only matters at the blinds.
Amy Vachal is the daughter of a friend, I’ve known her since she was little. She’s amazing !! It’s so much fun actually knowing one of the contestants.

Shelby is the one to beat, I believe. She’s able to things that other people cannot.
Reminds me at first of Danielle Bradberry. We’ll see as time goes on if it is as effortless-seeming for her as it was for Bradberry.
She’s a powerhouse, no doubt. I have her in my top-5-- as do others. It will all come down to how she fares with iTunes downloads. Not sure I see the comparison with Danielle Bradberry, other than as a likely front runner.
Bradberry’s singing was effortless because Blake chose songs that were always solidly in her pocket: a very narrow range. Unlike Adam’s choices designed to challenge or stretch his contestants, aka torpedo their chances.
I think Shelby’s a better singer. But, as we know, the best singer doesn’t always win.
I guess by now everyone knows that Christina will be back for season 10, replacing Gwen.
