Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

Update … H is watching his show until Pentatonix is on ABC. He thinks he discovered them in September this year on his own, not realizing they hit it big after the Sing-Off a few years ago. I will let him keep thinking that …

They gushed over Emily ann and Korin

OK, I love Amy’s voice but will admit to total prejudice as I am a Swat parent. Even more coincidentally, Bye Bye Bye, which she just sang, was a song my son’s a cappella group sang at Swat his freshman year, when Amy was a senior, in a different a cappella group. She had quite a different take on it tonight than they did, LOL.
ETA: OK, Jordan Smith-Holy cr@p! Even my hyper-critical son, who has no interest in watching The Voice came running into the room to ask who was singing and “slaying” that song.

I didn’t like Korin at all last week and was surprised that she was saved. She was great this week.

Snowflake, I’m still laughing at your hubby comments!

Our “basic” DirecTV bill was running $100 per month and we were unable to get good quality cable throughout because of our 12" thick solid wood walls. (Our home was built in Germany, in sections, and shipped to the US.)

Roku is a little easier to run on a non-smart TV than our smart TV is to operate without Roku-- so far-- IMO.

Glad the top-10 are all doing well for the most part. Will have to wait until tomorrow to see the show but will at least post the iTunes downloads in the morning Pacific Time.

Enjoy!

I haven’t paid much attention so far… Darn cyber Monday and crashing sites. Jordan pretty good, but I’ve liked some of his other songs better.

I can’t watch till kiddo is through with homework! Enjoying ya’ll’s comments. @SnowflakeVT that was funny!

I thought Gwen was really good. She looked sad too. Not sure if that song is supposed to be about her ex?

Holy cow. Madi was amazing.

Liked: Jordan (best performance of the night, helped by the fact I like that song), Jeffrey, Madi, Barrett (haven’t been a big fan thus far but I thought he did a great job tonight)

Meh: Shelby (not a country fan but I like her a lot better than Emily Ann), Amy (I like her but didn’t care for song choice), Korin

Disliked: Emily Ann (I find her painful to listen to), Braiden (did not care for tonight’s performance), Zach (just painful on the ears and eyes- I did not need to see his awkward pelvic thrusting)

Korin won’t be in the bottom two this week. Her hair looks much better, too. Amy and Zach have been favorites of mine in the past, but I didn’t care for their song versions this week.

I prefer the stripped down Damien Rice version of Hallelujah then Jordan’s. And Korin sounded and looked much better. Can’t wait for my favorite Maddie to sing.

Holy Cow Maddie was indeed amazing. Gosh I love that girl!

I fell asleep and just caught Madi (amazing) and Zach (still do not like him). Will have to watch tomorrow.

Madi was very good, glad Korin changed her hair color and she sounded much better this week.

Red haired guy is so good. I am not believing his story that he didn’t sing for six years while working that job he left. I would love to see a duet with him and Jordan. (Better yet, how about Mario Jose and Jordan?)

Hip thrust guy is selling out. Haven’t seen anything unique or new with him. He may be more Broadway. Performer, yes, amazing musician, not so much.

Braiden … Nice hair cut but the maturity isn’t there yet. Voice is great … Needs to cook two more years and learn to write songs so he can deconstruct then reconstruct a song like Madi and Amy.

I am a fan of Amy, err, I mean Pocahontas. She can definitely spin a song.

H was about to fire Jordan for being just okay, and then Jordan turned it on big time, so H fired himself and headed up to bed.

Emily Ann is cute as a button and she does know her style. With more voice development and ear training she will be another Carrie Underwood.

No clear winner for me.

Jeffery did a great job. First time I really liked listening to him.

Maybe Madi FINALLY breaks into top-10 iTunes ranking? She came close last week. She sure exudes confidence and poise for a 16-year-old.

Does anyone who is fielding a team on the Voice app want to post their point total? I’ve got 398,600. Not a great point total but at least my 5 are still around. Sounds like Zach, my weakest team member, may be on the bubble from what you’re saying.

Just heard Jeffrey so far, sounds great. Thought it weird that they had all the still male figures in the background during his song, I never like a bunch of effects during the singing. Wondered if they were trying to capitalize on the fact that he is gay, which seems strange to me.

How many make it to the finale? It seems there are a lot of singers left and just two more weeks of show? If only one goes home, that leaves 9 for next week’s semifinals.

My short answer is I personally don’t know. Last season, I believe there were 5 and the top 2 (in votes) were announced, leaving a bottom 3, and then there was an instant save and that person joined the other 2. Okay… anyone know for sure?

I was able to watch Jeffery and Jordan, so far. I really liked them both and personally thought it was Jeffery’s best performance of the season. Loved the more sophisticated look. I hope Jeffery’s great performance doesn’t get lost on voters since he performed first. Agree with VANUSEPRAC about liking Damien Rice’s version of Hallelujah, however, the song is always “magic”, regardless of who is singing it. Jordan switched it up, to make it his own, and I think he will be generously rewarded in the iTunes rankings. Using headphones is definitely the way to go!
