Love Madi, but did not like the song she sang. What a worthless song, wish she would have chosen something else.
Jordan, so amazing. He has got a serious career in front of him.

I noticed that, too, and agree with you.
Emily Ann and Madi were my shining stars last night. I love Amy as well, but just didn’t care for the song last night.
Just heard all the performances on You Tube, except for Jeffery and Jordan who I heard last night. I listened to them in groups, first comparing the Indie girls Amy, Korin, and Madi. I liked Madi the best, followed by Amy, then Korin. Loved Madi’s song choice and the arrangement. I agree with others that Korin was good, just not as good as the other 2, imo. I’m hoping that she is okay for a 3rd week in a row however. Braiden was next. I think I just witnessed the apocalypse. Hope he has a lot of young female voters this week or he’s in trouble. I then listened to the country artists Emily Ann, Barrett, Zach, and Shelby. I definitely thought Zach had the weakest performance. Whoever choreographed that performance drank too much Red Bull. Thought the others were solid. Liked Barrett more than I’ve ever liked him before. Thought Emily Ann looked more confident and hit her notes. Didn’t think Shelby’s dress was the least bit flattering but this could be her personal best iTunes ranking when they are released.
Speaking of iTunes rankings, here are the early results so far:
Great summary, @jshain
I have 447,000 on the Voice app. Why does the song blare whenever I open that app?
I have 4 still in, Amy and Shelby with 48 days on my team and Zachary and Jordan with 21 and 28 days. I kicked Emily off my team, but should have kicked Evan off sooner.
Finally figured out why Jordan does nothing for me. He sings the notes, not the song. Yes, he sings the notes in a beautiful tone and with complete accuracy, but in a very sterile fashion, with no musicality. In other words, a perfect choir singer. I doubt he could arrange a song or even suggest a treatment. I just don’t see how he can fit in the contemporary music scene, except in the Christian sphere.
Madi is Jordan’s polar opposite. She has an innate sense of the music, can arrange in a very innovative fashion, and convey tons of meaning with her lovely voice, even if it isn’t always perfect. I can’t even imagine what she’ll be capable of in 4 or 5 years. What a talent!
Amy still bores me. She handles every song in the exact same way. She’d be perfect background music over dinner, but I can’t imagine attending a concert of hers without dozing off.
Zach is completely ridiculous. Do we really need a reincarnation of Elvis?
As for the country singers–well, I can barely stand listening to country music, so I have no business commenting on them.
I agree with MommaJ’s post except for the comment about Jordan. While I am impressed by someone who can arrange and change up a song, however, that’s a different skill. When I listen to them on the radio or watch them on tv, I don’t really care if they are the one responsible for writing, changing up the lyrics, or writing the background music, though I’m amazed by such talent. I don’t expect (nor want) everyone to be Taylor Swift, (thank God).I’m more interested in if they sound good, and Jordan sounds fantastic. I do think he may end up as very inspirational Christian singer, though.
MommaJ, What about Jeffery? Did you like his performance last night? (I think I already know what you thought of Braiden, but feel free to tell us.)
I agree with everything said by MommaJ, except that I love country music. While I thought Emily Ann was good, I don’t think she connected with the heartbreak of the song. That will come with age and experience. I also liked, didn’t love, the Vince Gill song.
New poster here, but had to weigh in with support for MommaJ’s assessment about Jordan; his rendition of Hallelujah was beautifully sung but failed to really move me in the way other versions have. Felt he didn’t do enough with the dramatic crescendos and decrescendos and tempo changes that can make that song so hauntingly beautiful. He nailed the notes, but not the emotion, IMO. I too find Amy boring. I like country music a lot, and thought Barret really shined last night. Great, great song choice and performance for him.
Welcome embrace! Your user name should be my reaction to the condition of our son’s room. But it’s not.
Thought Jeffery had the performance of the night, Barrett #2, and Jordan #3. Zach’s horrible dancing and Braiden’s terrible singing make them my bottom two…no desire to see either of them again. Just an observation, but it looked as if Gwen was actually crying when she sung her new single: “I used to love you until you shtupped the nanny”.
They always show their fellow coaches, when one of them performs, but not last night. Camera stayed on Gwen the whole time. I didn’t like the song, her white dress, the set, or anything else about her performance that escapes me at the present time.
^^^ Glad that wasn’t just me. I actually turned it to Charlie Brown after awhile.
Wait, Gwen’s ex shtupped the nanny of her kids? I am not keeping up with pop culture.
I am not happy that hip swagger guy made it!
Yep, @SnowflakeVT, he did. For a long time, if you believe what’s reported.
Oy, she’s forgetting the lyrics. Sad. May get some sympathy votes, though.
Very tough for Korin. So much pressure. Guess she’s going home tonight.
I didn’t watch much of Gwen’s performance. Thought she was gorgeous, but every time she sings, she has that whine in her voice. Even singing one line, it gets tedious. She forgot her words? Yikes.
Send both of them home.
