@busdriver11 Yes. It was very close
Thanks!
It looks like next week is the Semi Finals and only 4 will go on to the Finals.
Who are your 4?
I’ll go with Alison, Bryan, Laith, and Shalya.
I’d go with Adam, Laith, Hannah and Allisan. However I don’t like Allisan scream singing.
For me, two seem to be more of a sure thing while two are harder to pick. I’ll go with “co-favorites” Laith and Adam, early favorite Alisan, and lastly the one many of you like to hate and a long shot to make it, Mary Sarah. If Mary Sarah isn’t in the final-4, then I’ll pick Hannah. Even though Shalyah is on my team, I think she has faded over the past few weeks.
I don’t get this format. We watch a drip, drip, drip, one per week attrition when there are 12 or so contestants, and then half of the remaining eight are eliminated in a fell swoop next week? Maybe it somehow maximizes the audience, but I’d be concerned about viewers deciding that they’ve better ways to spend their time. (He says, after not having missed an episode.)
Laith is slowly growing on me. He has an “authenticity” in that he’s just doing what he has been doing forever, and what he will keep doing if he’s eliminated at any time. Here are a couple of links I found which were written pre-Voice.

I understand the comments from contestants lamenting that they’ve been singing for x years and don’t think they can keep doing it, but Laith is a guy who, afaik, hasn’t said that and isn’t likely too.
I like some other contestants as well, and I don’t think Laith is that likely to win in the end, but I do like the guy. I might get to Ann Arbor this fall, and if he’s there I think I’ll go see him.
I agree I’d rather they have let two go at a time.
@jshain, I think I may be the only Mary Sarah hater on board. I even hate the way she makes that cutesy little face and touches her tongue to her teeth, LOL.
Final four, I would like to see Laith, Adam, Bryan, and either Alisan or Shalyah. And I’d REALLY like to see Emily, but that’s not happening.
Why in doG’s name would a former professional dancer perform for his life in the competition sitting on a stool?!?
One more Laith clip from 10 years ago when he didn’t have the beard. A bit of a different presentation. Watch the video. I think he’s a little more The Guitar than he is The Voice.

My final four would be Alisan, Laith, Adam and Bryan. And @Consolation , you are not the only Mary Sarah hater.
Great pix, dadx. So if he gets a haircut, loses the beard, and gets new glasses, it could be very beneficial.
Ha. I actually think the beard is helping him. The 10 year old clip makes him look like a junior lawyer or accountant. I do think moderating the beard a bit might be beneficial. But he’s gotten this far as he’s presented so far, so its hard to argue. I’m not sure what the demographic of the show’s voters is. Its possible that it skews somewhat older, towards geezer territory, based on the ads I see. I fit that category.
"I think I may be the only Mary Sarah hater on board.’
Nope, you have company.
My final 3 because that’s all I like: Laith, Adam, Bryan
Who I think the final 4 will be- Laith, Adam, Mary Sarah and Alisan.
Who I want the final 4 to be- Laith, Adam, Bryan and Hannah. (but I’m not a Mary Sarah hater, I think there is a place for her in country music)
Hope he’s there or, hopefully, on to larger venues. If not, you must at least go have a Reuben Sandwich at Zingerman’s Deli!
I agree! With his posture and natural (and trained) movement, he should have utilized his Dance skills, more. That comment goes for Nick (ballet) and also Paxton (hip hoppy). Move, boys, move!
^And Mary Sarah should move LESS!
I don’t like to use the word hate but I’m no Mary Sarah fan. It’s not just the yawnfest songs, I can’t stand her facial expressions. I feel like her image is all calculated and fake. Remember how Taylor Swift used to be shocked at every award show? It’s worse than that for me.
Another Mary Sarah non-fan here. While I acknowledge she has fine vocal skills, to me she’s just one more female country singer who sounds like every other female country singer. I watch the show (and used to watch Idol) in hopes of discovering a performer who stands out, someone who combines voice, style and musicianship in a way that brings something new to the table (and like him or not, Sawyer did that), someone whose voice I’ll recognize immediately on the radio even if I’m listening to a new song with no introduction. I don’t get excited about Alisan for the same reason–again, fine vocal abilities, but nothing about her that’s special. I’m still undecided as to whether anyone in this season’s crop has that quality.
I see what you are saying about Mary Sarah but I think she does stand out in country when she does that old style Patsy Cline thing. She’s been pursuing this for so long that she hasn’t yet learned how to let down her guard and just be herself. I personally think she does have something, but I also think there is more of her to come as she unpackages herself a bit more.
I also like Alison, but I wonder if she is current enough for the voice voters to love her. Yes, see does scream sometimes, but her good notes are better than anyone this season. Plus, Christina is her coach so I am sure that is getting encouraged. I hope she doesn’t start dressing like Chestina! [-X
I think I am also exhausted with singing competitions. I am still annoyed that Idol and The Voice overlapped this season. During that time I couldn’t bond with anyone because my heart felt unfaithful to the artists on the opposite show. I really like to see these people succeed, but I can only give so much per week of myself. #:-S
