Josh is on my team and for a second, I thought he was going home. I really like his vibe, so glad he got picked up.
So far my team is 4for4 and now I am just waiting for the twins to make it through.
On the App, I have 133,000 points. How do people even get 400,000+ at this point? I am in 999+ place.
Charlie Puth won an online song competition when he was at Berklee (a duo, with a female singer). Ellen Degeneres saw it and loved them and had them on her show, and from there he hit popular culture. He was already doing these hilarious YouTube videos of parodies of pop songs, and those were also taking off at same time. Very talented young man.
I lost Blaine and, for now, replaced him with Josh H. I am really surprised Blaine went home this early. Thought those who got saved were well-deserved. I had 259,500 points entering tonight’s show.
Here are the iTunes top-200 rankings from Monday’s show as of this morning:
Josh Halverson and Kylie Rothfield, House of the Rising Sun, #77
Aaron Gibson and Sa’Rayah, I’ll Take Care of You, #79
I’m thinking that Miley may not do so great in this competition if she has her contestants sing dumb little ditties like she had Darby and Karlee sing. It could be the producers fault, but really. When Anerica is voting, you’d better give them a good song that people would like. Ain’t nobody listening to that kind of stuff on the radio.
I, for one, was happy to hear “Brand New Key.” I remember it fondly from childhood (although that makes me clearly not in the targeted demo) and I interviewed Melanie (the original singer) for an article a few years back. She was very friendly and engaging.
I’m surprised I’m a Miley fan on the show (except for her blind auditions outfit). I think she’s fun and pretty good at coaching. Or maybe I’m just nostalgic for the days of watching “Hannah Montana” with my D…
Once again I agreed with the winners, but I was not impressed by Bindi and don’t understand the steal. Maybe that just was a bad song for her. Loved the sisters.
I felt sorry for the poor guy who had to compete against a harmonizing duo who are, wait for it–sisters AND pretty. He must have known he was doomed from the start, no matter how well he performed, because they fill a novelty niche. I actually don’t think either of the sisters sounds very special when singing alone, and as for their harmonies, well, anyone who’s had a kid sing in any kind of choir knows that harmonizing nicely is no great feat. After all, in almost every battle round performance, two singers who have never even met before are required to sing in harmony for some portion of the song and manage to do it just fine.
No one is getting me truly excited this season. Maybe I’ve finally tired of the show.
Wow, great score, jshain. Am I supposed to open the app daily even on non-show days? I hope you creep up the leaderboard so I see your name.
My sister duo got through, but I liked the guy better actually. I agree that the sisters individually were just okay, but they do fill a niche and they are super beautiful in a very tasteful way, so by pop standards, that is good.
I didn’t pick Austin, but I do like him. I am not sure I want them to makeover him or not, but maybe a different haircut would help a little.
Snowflake, I try to go in and open the app daily but don’t see my point total changing on non-show days. As of yet I still have not logged onto FB. Voice app only. I have never tweeted the coaches to earn bonus points. I’ve been watching the show so far on the NBC.com/Voice website, since we don’t have cable or satellite, but am missing the coaching sessions/rehearsals. I can watch the show on Hulu but not until the next day following the telecast.
I now have 371,000 points currently and my team right now is:
I also really like Brendan Fletcher. Almost took him instead of Josh H. He has a good voice and a great look. Now he needs to get/make good song choices.
I really thought Gabriel was robbed. The sisters simply drowned him out, since he was playing nice and singing in the ensemble. With a different song he could have sung out a lot more and basically treated them like backup singers, which is what I think they’d be good at in the end. I was really hoping that Blake would steal him.
Impressed by Brendan and Aaron. I’ll be interested in seeing what they can do.
Jshain, we have 4/5 the same. Maybe I need to log on to the website more, but I’d rather see your name pop up on the leaderboard.
I hope I start to see someone breakout of their comfort zones in the coming weeks. Right now I do not have a favorite. The five I picked were so clearly good, so I got lucky that all five made it through, but none of them gave me goosies or made me cry. That is how I know they are really getting to my cold heart strings.
