Didn’t anyone watch tonight? The sharing-the-keyboard thing was well played (no pun intended).
Just watched Dave and Michael’s performance (to use Miley’s word). Wow, the cool factor was a perfect 10! Glad Adam got “his guy”.
I thought tonight was just mediocre. The first battle (Money) was really bad, imo. Dave and Michael were good, but neither of them has any sex appeal. lol
@musicmom1215 Would you say that if they were women? [-(
Seriously, that is the hardest part of this show. We’ has a beautiful singing voice, but I can’t see her becoming a star. That is why I like blind auditions. Think about how interesting the show would be if it were “blind” through the end.
Well, my team members survived, even though one (Dave) was by a steal. (I thought that Dave seemed pretty appealing when he was singing Sex and Candy in the blinds.)
Glad to see that Miley kept Indie girl Mae. I thought she was interesting in the blinds.
“@musicmom1215 Would you say that if they were women?”
No, and sex appeal is not exactly what I meant. I think what I should have said is they don’t have the “IT factor,” at least not for me. It really has nothing to do with their looks (they are handsome enough) or personality, there just is something lacking for me. That is only my opinion and I’m sure the rest of you have your own opinion.
It would be really interesting to have totally blind performances throughout, only revealing the contestants in the finale after the last vote. But then it would be radio, not TV.
Okay, tech-savvy Voicers, how does one get the accent above the “e” on We’s name? Speaking of which, if she makes it through the knockout round, I think the stylists will give her a slight makeover with her wardrobe and appearance.
@jshain, I just typed “Wé” in Word, using the Insert Symbol function to add the accented “e”, then copied and pasted it here. Not tech savvy at all, but good at finding awkward workarounds when I have to. (Now everyone can just cut and paste from my post–ta da!)
Only bothered to do this because Wé is the only contestant I’ve worked up any enthusiasm for this season, and I’m not even sure how much of her appeal may be attributable to the crazy disconnect between her speaking and singing voices. (Would love to have a speech therapist give some insight on how that works.) But I know I want to hear her sing a lot more songs, and I can’t really say that about anyone else.
I would not refer to “sex appeal” about a woman, because I’m not gay, and it’s hard for me to identify that quality in women. But I can identify that in men
It seems to me that Bette Midler and Michael Puth are giving excellent coaching. I don’t know about Joan Jett. Either she has a medical issue, or she’s done too much botox or something. She doesn’t seem to add much. Sammy Hagar is better than she is. (Never heard of him before. Not a Van Halen fan. Never heard of Michael Puth either. I’m behind the times. )
I just love the Divine Miss M.
I think I can identify “sex appeal” in both sexes. But, agree, it is more about some kind of “It” factor often in terms of why some people make it big.
Yes I was wondering what’s wrong with Joan, she can barely talk. I don’t know if she can even open her mouth wide enough to sing, but I was wondering if she had a stroke or if it’s a Botox/plastic surgery thing. I hope she’s okay.
Joan has had multiple plastic surgeries on her nose, cheek implants, veneers, and Botox injections.
It’s Charlie Puth, not Michael.
Well, I haven’t heard of Charlie Puth before either. But I like him.
(Thanks for the correction. )
Can Joan Jett be any less enthusiastic ? She can’t seem to open her mouth much. Very distracting .
Arggh! I forgot it was on, and DH has been watching MSNBC.
I am watching baseball but recorded The voice for another night.
I caught that last battle and Alecia’s steal. It was greatQ
I really like Aaron. I think I agreed with all of the decisions tonight.
