Guess who came to Toledo last night? (Click on my avatar.) He started out with Jimi Hendrix’s Watchtower. His guitar playing is nothing short of genius. He played much more than sang. New songs are pretty good for the most part, but are primarily blues songs. He had an electric fan down at his feet, on the other side of his mike, so it looked funny when he stood there, letting half his beard fly up.
I haven’t been able to get into this season’s Voice. It seems like all the other seasons. Gwen’s, “I can’t believe you picked me to be your coach”, is getting old. Alicia puts me to sleep. I think they need at least one new judge each season. The judges’ comments are just too repetitive.
As insipid as the bromance between Adam and Blake can be, I think that both of them are still easier to listen to than the inane comments from Alicia and Gwen. Gwen’s romance with Blake also drives me up a wall. Okay for them if they want to date each other, but they don’t have to refer to it every third comment.
I just got a “sneak peak” on NBC.com of 32-year-Old Valerie Ponzio doing Ring of Fire. She described herself as a Country Americana artist. Since the show has not started yet, I do not know which coach she selected. Blake already has two solid female country artists but she could be just as good, due to her crossover potential into other genres.
There are 3 nights of Blinds in total this week-- the usual Monday and Tuesday shows and a Best of the Blinds on Wednesday.
I like Hanna.
@Toledo, is that Laith? I would totally but his recordings! I would love to go to a concert, although a somewhat intimate setting would be ideal. He’s just amazingly good.

Last season the guys were stronger. The gals seem to have more depth this season although it’s early…
I have grown weary of Adam telling every. single. contestant, “You could win this.” Not loving anybody tonight.
Agree the girls seem to be better this season, but we have only heard 90 seconds of each one. Maybe some guys will step up later.
Not really liking anyone tonight either.

I must have a tin ear. I definitely liked the last one too, but thought several were good singers. Not particularly my kind of music, but they were not bad singers.
