I listened to all the battles on the iTunes “teasers”. Glad it wasn’t just me. Even Chris Blue wasn’t that memorable.
I just watched it. RJ and Chris are both wonderful. I really liked Johnny and Sammy’s performance. Really, they felt like a band. I think they should consider it. Johnny is definitely the showman of the duo at this point.
I have t admit that I was somewhat wrong about Dawson. He was definitely cannon fodder for Blake and his girls, but he is MUCH better than I thought.
I tuned in a bit late and missed Brinley and Lauren’s duet, which is the only one in the itunes top 200 at the moment. I thought the only good battle of the ones I saw was Johnny and Sammie.
Johnny and Sammy’s Battle performance is currently at #198 on the iTunes Top-200. Brennley and Lauren are at 180, but had been as high as #161.
@Consolation , I agree that Dawson was much better than expected.
Kind of going anti-country on my list, which explains my measly 83,000 points perhaps. I am not seeing an obvious winner yet, but do see several that I want to learn more about in different performances. My refreshed team is:
Jchosen
Quizz
Chris
Valerie
Anatalia
I think we are in for a real treat tonight during Hunter Plake’s and Jack Cassidy’s Battle Round performance. I really liked Hunter during the Blinds, but not enough to make my top-5. When I just saw his performance of Dancing On My Own, he just moved into the top-tier for me.
Definitely Caroline .
I’ll have to wait until tomorrow morning, as usual.
UsHAin, rest easy
Me too, Consolation. Listening to the iTunes teasers on Pop Vortex. Killing Me Softly for Autumn and Vanessa-- seriously? Looks like I may have lost one of my team members already…
I really thought Hunter won that one. I love his tone, but not in my top 5 yet. I lost Kawan tonight. I still love his tone, too, but I replaced him with Lauren so I am not heartbroken. LOL
Now watching on NBC.com…
Johnny Hayes was very good tonight. Great stage presence. I really like both “rocker Johnnys”-- Hayes (Team Adam) and Gates (Team Gwen). It will be interesting to see how Jesse Larson does. Surprised that Alicia paired Autumn and Vanessa, who I think were both 2 of the strongest women overall, let alone from the same team.
Okay, Hunter just moved to my team and I removed JChosen. Something about the way Hunter placed those notes hit my cold little heart just right.
Hunter Plake and Jack Cassidy, Dancing On My Own, currently ranked #27 and likely will get into the teens and possibly even single-digits.
I lost Sheena, and replaced her with Vanessa. Not quite ready to put Hunter in my top five. I would have been more likely to favor him if he had gone to Adam’s team.
Loved Josh. Sorry to see him go.
Check Vanessa out on You Tube. She definitely could make some waves:
Interesting article about the Voice–how nobody has become a star, how manipulated the results are, etc. I liked the analogy to college acceptances! https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2017/03/the-voice-and-the-american-dream/520884/
jonri, Thanks for sharing. No argument with the article. For me as well as others on this thread-- entertainment plain and simple. The only part of the show I do not like are the coaching comments during the Live Rounds. All fluff and not much substance.
I was disappointed in Taylor. Still wanted to hear more from him. But I replaced him on my team with Hunter.
