doschicos, Hunter has given solid performances every week that he’s performed. A very creative artist. Hope Brennley does well. I put her on my team over Lauren. Hope the “gamble” pays off.
Hanna. Not so great.
Johnny was good, though. He might be the only “comeback” artist to make it through.
Not impressed tonight
Ouch my ears! Josh is so off key.
A lot of them are tonight @jym626
Which Johnny … Gates on Team Gwen or Hayes on team Adam?
Josh was not only off key but just not in timing with the music. That was rough!
Mark was decent. Not loving the song selection, though.
Lily was just bland. Not bad but bland.
@jshain The Johnny I was talking about was Hayes on Team Adam.
I also was talking about Johnny Hayes. I’m not loving any of the song selections tonight.
Well, I did better than I thought I would. I only lost one tonight. I have 808,500 points. My team is down to Lilli, Chris and Mark.
My team is down to Lauren, Chris, and Hunter. I think they will be around for a while.
I don’t know if it’s just me but I can’t seem to get too enthused about any of these people. I have liked Hunter from the start but even he is just, well, good. No one is knocking my socks off. Too many of these singers have such poor enunciation that you can’t understand much of what they’re singing, and they also swallow the ends of far too many words. I don’t know if it’s a case of so many not having any training this season or what, but these coaches should be actually coaching them, and giving them constructive feedback.
Another thing I have noticed with a lot of them is that they are very awkward on stage.
I really like Lauren. If it weren’t for her, I would just give up on the season. I haven’t been impressed by anyone else this season and I’m tired of the judges. I would really like to see some new blood in those chairs.
Well, checking the app, my team is down to Chris and Vanessa. I like some of the other people a lot, though, such as Lauren and Jesse. I haven’t seen the show yet and I’m wondering what happened to Jchosen: he was so good!
So many strange (also as in Gwen’s top) and/or poor song choices this week, not the least of which was Jesse’s.
Here are the current iTunes rankings for Monday and Tuesday’s Live Playoffs:
Hunter, Elastic Heart, #38
Chris, Love On The Brain, #63
Lauren, Someone Else’s Star, #65
Stephanie, Every Breath You Take, #90
Brennley, Fly, #112
Lilli, It’s Too Late, #172
Troy, A Case Of You, #178
Here’s my team update. Please feel free to share yours as well:
Chris- 35 days
Jesse- 22 days
Hunter 16 days
Brennley- 15 days
833,000 points
Consolation, For me JChosen never was quite as good after his Blind Audition. I feel the same way about Casi.
@jshain I agree. I think that since his mother had her stroke, he’s not been as good , rightfully so.
I also think Casi was not as good. I think her audition was sort of “bait and switch.” She started out with an old-country sound and then switched to something entirely different, which I didn’t like much at all.
Yes, song choices have not been good.
What I do like about this season’s contestants is that they are pretty evenly matched. It seems like there are fewer “semi-professionals”.
Just for kicks I chose my team on the app, and I haven’t seen a second of the show this season. My 5 were Brennley, Hunter, Jesse, Lilli and Josh W. Apparently Josh is gone leaving me with 4. I’ll be curious if my choosing by looks alone method will be successful at all. I didn’t choose my most attractive, I chose based on if they looked in their picture like they’d be successful on the show.
Poor Josh. He tried manfully, but he was just not up to singing that song at this stage in his life. Gwen also sank Jchosen with a dreadful song choice. I don’t like Hunter and I don’t like Mark. Not a fan of blah Brennley, either. Hanna has tremendous talent, I think, but she doesn’t have enough control yet. Did anyone else wonder whether Quiz’s voice was changing when he sang? He has a lot of talent too. For some of these kids with more potential, it’s just too early.
I don’t know what I think about Troy. The song, A Case of You, is one of Joni’s greatest. His voice doesn’t have the flexibility to sing it like she does. The falsetto Gwen suggested did not work at all. He was much better when he settled into his own narrow range in the second half.
I would have liked to see both of the Johnnies go through. If I were Adam I would have picked Johnny over Marc. Not because I thought he would get more votes from the twitter crowd, but just because I like him so.
