This season could be a carbon copy of last season when Lauren Duski, the favorite, didn’t win because of splitting “same coach votes”.
Well, I was really hoping for Chloe, Addison, Noah, and Red to be the finalists. Brooke does absolutely nothing for me.
Shocked that Noah didn’t make it.
I have to disagree, @jshain . I think that Chris Blue was the favorite from the moment he auditioned.
Sure, I liked Lauren Duski a lot, but she didn’t win because Chris Blue was simply better.
I am stating my opinion of Lauren being the favorite based on her iTunes rankings, which were higher than Chris’ rankings. I am using that same measurement stick with Chloe, who has done better in iTunes compared to Addison. As a result, I think Chloe is the favorite this season.
Edit: It is hard to say one is better when 2 different genres are involved. If Alicia had 2 artists in the final-4, I personally do not think he would have won. I had Chris on my team and did not have Lauren, so there are no sour grapes involved.
Kinda surprised Brooke is still hanging in there, but she does seem to have a big following.
She’s been on my team for 79 days. I have 2,305,600 points.
It is too bad for JHud that she got locked out, but she has really been over the top, and rubs a lot of viewers the wrong way. Next week’s show will be interesting. I predict Chloe will win, but we might be surprised. I saw some really negative comments about her voice on facebook. It is such an individual preference.
While I am way out of the running in points, my two longstanding team members, Chloe and Brooke made the final four. I do like Addison, and she certainly has the votes. My prediction is Chloe as a potential winner.
One of my favorites that didn’t make it was Devon. He was just starting to learn how to dial it back and I really liked that last song. I was never sure what was going on with his hair, but it seemed he was also trying find a style that was more suitable for pop stardom. I was very fond of his personality and emotion, and when he hit some notes, he sounded so good.
On Noel, I think he was trying to play too much into what worked earlier in the season. Yes, the blond hair and blue eyes is a nice look, but he is not a bad-@ss dude, so when he tries to do that it comes off as unauthentic. The ‘tweens loved it when he hit some lower notes in one of his earlier breakout songs, but then he tried to sing those notes too often and it instead emphasized that he can’t really keep his pitch down there.
On the country guys, I thought they were both good in a cover song kind of way … neither one stepped out of the box too much.
Just finished listening to Brooke close Monday’s show on Hulu. Since I do not have cable or satellite tv, that is my way of watching the show in its entirety. Every time I watch a complete show, which has not been too frequently this season, I am so thankful to have avoided all the hype (referring to Miley’s comments). Brooke can win, but I think she will need to be careful not to over sing and over perform. For me, that performance was hard to listen to in spots and hard to watch. I liked her Blind Audition when she sang Demi Lovato’s Stone Cold song. It showed off the rounder, richer side of her voice.
I was kind of surprised and definitely disappointed when Chloe, near the end of her rehearsal, said to Blake “Wait til you see the expression I am planning”, referring to what she was going to do towards the end of her performance. I might not like Brooke’s performance skills but, unlike Chloe, at least she is completely authentic. And, for me, that is what I also love about Addison and Red.
I have 2,041,500 points.
I have 2,059,000 points and still have Brooke left on my team.
@jshain, I thought Chloe’s remark had something to do with what she was planning to wear. I don’t remember what she said exactly, but I remember Blake’s reply was something like, “You’re on your own there.” Or are you talking about another remark that I apparently missed?
musicmom, I just played it back again. She said “And the look I have planned for this…”. You are right! She was referring to a fashion look, because Blake said what you mentioned followed by “I dress like Jay Leno”. I stand corrected.
@snowflakeVT Couldn’t agree with you more. Noah was trying to lose his “good boy” image and it backfired. Devon finally sang a male song and sounded terrific, but it may have been too late. His hairstyle change was much improved.
Does anyone think Chloe and Addison could split the vote? They seem the most similar to me.
They could definitely split the vote. I wish they could just eliminate one per week to avoid that issue. Although Brooke is on my team so it might help her.
A blast from the past but a shout out to our hometown guy and Voice alum, Billy Gilman, who will be performing here soon. Such a down to earth, giving person. Also we know his boyfriend’s family. Really good people. Big fans of his awesome handsome boyfriend.
Love Billy Gilman!
Just listened to the top-8 results show.
Wondering if Adam Cunningham had sung that Travis Tritt song on Monday night whether or not coach Adam would have had 2 artists in the finals instead of Blake? Agree with those of you who said or were thinking he was better than Red or think he was the strongest country artist this season. Keeping Esera over him in the Battles was possibly even dumber than Miley keeping Ashland over Chloe. He was a final-4 if Blake had kept him and, in retrospect, should have been in the finals anyway.
I was sorry to see Noah go home after that incredible duet performance with Chloe. It was unfortunate that Blake let him go so early (keeping Keisha over him) and perhaps his best coaching option, Adam, never materialized. Jennifer never truly believed in him like she with Davon and Shi’Ann. He was the “foster child” for this season, imo.
I love Brooke the person!
Yes, I agree @toledo that Chloe and Addison are slightly overlapping in genre’s and/or vibe and so are at risk for splitting the vote. Agree also with @jshain about Brooke being careful not to over sing or over act when singing. When she is feeling sassy she does an over-confident leg kick and I don’t want her thinking she is a for sure winner yet. Her voice is amazing, but just like Devon, too much can backfire.
Please … does anyone else not want another country singer as the winner? I may stop watching if that happens,
Out of 13 seasons, I think there have only been 3 country winners: Danielle Bradbery, Craig Wayne Boyd, and Sundance Head. Was Cassadee Pope country? I don’t remember watching that season.
No, Cassadee Pope was not Country. Blake was so proud that he won that season WITHOUT her being a country artist and brings that fact up almost every season in the Blinds when trying to fill his team with a non-Country artist. She has been the most successful artist to date that has ever won the show but I suppose that isn’t saying much. One of the few times I have ever picked the eventual winner from her Blind Audition, with the exception of a couple of obvious artists like Jordan Smith and Sawyer Fredericks. Whenever I hear her name, it reminds me of Xiggi. He could NOT stand her, always referring to her a a cruise ship entertainer! Here musicmom, judge for yourself:
Nope, she’s not country. And I don’t think Red will win this season, so 3 country winners in 14 seasons is not that many, imo.
I don’t think Red will win either. It will be interesting to see if the votes get split more between Addison and Chloe or Red and Chloe although I’m not sure how we would even know for sure. I still think Addison will not take as many votes away from Chloe than Noah would have, had he made the finals. If both Addison and Red siphon off some of Chloe’s votes, then I think Brooke has a shot at winning. (Assuming all would be in the iTunes top-10 next week— a bigger if for Brooke and Red, imo, and especially Brooke who has been all over the map with her song selection.) I still believe Chloe is the front runner, but she doesn’t seem to have as large a lead now that Blake has 2 in the finals. Still firmly believe the coach influences the vote to some extent.
Chloe and Addison are both special. Red is a doll, and I’d love for him to have a career, but he isn’t in their class.
Brooke is just nothing special to me. I would be very, very disappointed if she won.
