I definitely think of Cassadee Pope as country. Her biggest hit has been a duet with country singer Chris Young.

Cassadee not being country was in the context of country artists that had competed on the show and won the Voice.
She was not country when she first was on the show.
i personally prefer to hear the singers sing - and not see and hear all the hoopla and background music and singers and lights. Some of the performances are just TOO MUCH and so not authentic. They are not big-time stars and having all of the extras around them takes away and masks their performances. I do think brook’s voice is pretty, but i cant stand anything diva-ish from her. That’s why i think chloe will win - if she focuses on her songs that cater to her voice and vibe. i havent been playing the points game; but perhaps will try it next season.
one thing that i do appreciate is how two of the four singers were stolen; that does seem to me that the show isnt rigged or such. Has a stolen singer ever won before?
bgbg4us, I know for sure Josh Kaufman was a stolen artist that won. He may be the only one to do so. Adam was his original coach and Usher stole him. Good chance that a stolen artist will win again this season!
Thanks for refreshing my memory that only 3 country artists have ever won. I guess I just don’t want a country singer to win, and that is because not many country singers on the Voice have popped out for pushing the boundaries of that genre, even though most can do really good cover songs.
Wasn’t Craig Wayne Boyd stolen twice? If I recall correctly, it seems like Blake let him go in the battle round and he was stolen by someone (Adam maybe) and then he lost in the knock outs and Blake stole him back.
I saw a commercial for American Idol today. It starts up again in March on ABC.
^That does sound very familiar, musicmom. Since we know he won, that makes him a 2nd stolen artist who won and maybe the only one who was stolen twice AND returning to his original coach!

Wow, I didn’t know I started watching from Day 1. In the early seasons, I watched Dancing with the Stars and flipped over to The Voice during commercials, so I feel like I missed a lot, but I have watched only The Voice the last three or four years, mainly because of this thread!

Tonight is the first of the 2-part finale for season 13. Winner announced tomorrow (Tuesday) after the myriad performances in the 2-hour long show.
If Chloe wins tomorrow, Blake Shelton will have been the winning coach in 6 of the past 13 seasons. That may not even be his biggest accomplishment on the show. In every other season when he did not win, he was the runner up. The only exception to this was in season 5 so he has either won or been the runner up in 12 out of 13 seasons. In the 3rd season he had the winner and runner up. That was the season Cassadee Pope won. This total Blake domination might not be what NBC had anticipated and they possibly even regret it but, as we all know, the shows needs him.
Miley Cyrus gave away two of the four singers that are in the finals and that could potentially go 1-2: Chloe and Addison. Ouch.

I just listened to the iTunes teasers of each of the artists first songs listed, which you can also download on the link above. I thought Red had his best song choice and vocal performance of the season!
The two songs from the list for tonight that I am most interested in hearing are “Falling Slowly” from Once (Addison and Adam) and "Wrecking Ball " (Brooke and Miley).
I just listened to all of the iTunes teasers of just the first songs listed. I am assuming these are the “songs they would want to record”. The one that stood out most for me was Red’s rendition of To Make You Feel My Love by Bob Dylan. This song title sounded so darn familiar, I went back and looked through all my notes of my song suggestions and I (along with countless others I am sure) had sent Red this request— a month ago— of the Garth Brooks’ version.
So excited for tonight’s show.
