Just watched the elimination show on Hulu. When voting results are announced “in no particular order”, does ANYONE really believe that? I don’t.

toledo, I am watching the shows on Hulu now but, now that you mention it, there are no percentages being shown on the screen. That was a nice touch. I wonder if NBC thought it was swaying votes so eliminated showing them?
I didn’t see the votes either, and I thought Carson said something about a problem with the graphic.

Just listened to all the iTunes studio session “teasers”. I was impressed overall with the song choices and vocals.
Britton picked a head scratcher of a song but did a nice job with it. Jackie F. went with a more melodic pop song (compared to her most recent 2-3 weeks) and was at her best, imo. Loved Christiana’s arrangement of Ain’t No Sunshine. Will be interesting to see if it has “mass voter or iTunes appeal”. It had her cool jazz vibe, which I happen to love. Liked everyone from Blake’s team, even 3rd seed Spensha, who sounded awesome. Pryor let off the gas and and sang with less grit 2 weeks running. Kyla was solid but played it a little safer than last week. Might do better on iTunes and with the voters. Loved Brynn’s tone. Felt really comfortable. Better than last week. Kaleb was unspectacular but okay. I think Jackie V. surpasses Rayshun this week. I did not recognize his song. For him, that could be a problem. Hoping Rayshun and Kaleb are in the bottom.
The theme tonight is “challenge”. Does that mean choosing a song out of your wheelhouse? (Obviously not watching live or I could get the answer to my question). Some of the competitors really did choose songs out of their genres, like Britton and Spensha. But others didn’t challenge themselves as much, putting those who did at a disadvantage.
Can someone confirm that this is what the “challenge” was about, picking songs out of your normal genre?
I may have missed it, but I haven’t heard anything about “challenge.”
Edit: As soon as I typed this, I heard Christiana say something about a challenge…

I thought Jackie F had her best night. I liked the softer side, and I think she needed it.
Yep, agree… Jackie F. Needs to put her Rock on ice and sing songs that show off that beautiful, rangy, but melodic voice of hers. Kyla’s song seemed to strike a nerve, causing her to get very emotional. What did I miss? Some of the iTunes studio sessions were far better than their stage performances. Spensha, Rayshun, Jackie V. all sounded so much better in auto-correct, studio mode. Wow, Britton. That electric guitar work was awesome but way too brief!

Looks like the only one not listed on the itunes rankings is Rayshun.
Kyla’s story was how somebody posted something mean about her on social media and how she never felt pretty growing up, so she got emotional in the song. I’m sorry that she seems to lack confidence, but I wish she wouldn’t hide behind her hair.
