I’m surprised by the first one through.
I’m listening to a play by play on a blog— like the old radio days! Wow… Spensha got announced as safe first off. That means a “surprise” will be in the bottom singing for the save.
I, too, am surprised.
And then there were two…on my team.
After watching the Monday show on Hulu and listening to Blake’s post-performance comments, it seemed quite apparent to me that Blake wanted Kyla and Spensha in the finals over Pryor. His comments after Pryor performed on Monday were a little strange to me, especially when he didn’t gush about his talent or performance but, almost as an afterthought at the last second, mumbled “see you in the finals”.
I think Britton singing Springsteen kind of backfired. We always hear not to sing Adele, or Whitney, or Moriah, but Bruce should also be included on that list. His iTunes charting was somewhat misleading because, once 6 out of 8 charted in the top-10 on iTunes, the playing field leveled rather quickly.
Last night, for the first time all season, I finally came to realize that Kyla could, and maybe more importantly, SHOULD win. To me, she has gotten better with each performance. I gave her 10 votes even though she isn’t on my team.
I also gave Kyla 10 votes and she’s not on my team. I really think she does have a chance to win. By the results tonight, Brynn got more votes than Britton and that surprised me a little. I thought Britton was a lock to win it all, but now I’m not so sure.
Did Britton seem off-key towards the end of his song? I expected to like him the most and Kaleb the least, but it was exactly the opposite after hearing them sing tonight. But America voted along with my expectations.
That surprised me as well but, for me, the SHOCKER was that Spensha (apparently) got more votes than Brynn— and Kyla! I think Spensha is going to hurt Kyla’s chances to win. But, as far as I’m concerned, they both have won simply by getting this far.
Funny Bruce Springsteen story:
In 2008, I attended our D’s Freshman orientation at Boston College. It was the very last orientation week before school started. (My wife could not attend since her school year had already begun at the college where she was teaching.) A significant number of parents were all divided into much smaller groups where we would spend the next few days together. Bruce and wife Patti were in my orientation group! (Son Evan and our D graduated in same class.)
toledo, To me he may have been a little flat at the beginning of the song. I did not love his song choice. With Kaleb, I just heard Cade Foehner sing that same song on American Idol last Sunday— who I thought did a better rendition of it.
Throughout this season, I have thought Kaleb was boring.
@jshain, Carson said he was announcing the top vote-getters “in no particular order” so Spensha did not necessarily get the most votes.
They always say that results are in “no particular order” but I guess I’m a skeptic.
Anyone besides me getting confused by Kaleb on the voice and Caleb on AI? They look alike!
jym626, Voice voters have addressed your concern and taken immediate action.
What kind of “immediate action?”
@jym626, Kaleb did not advance…I adore Caleb on AI.
Ah, thanks. Problem solved
I still have Kyla and Brynn with 2,593,000 points.
I have Britton and Brynn with 2,292,000 points.
musicmerit, You are one tough competitor and I am rooting for you to hit the 3 million mark. I am currently at 2,444,000 points. I think musicmom will also overtake me having Britton for max days, unless Brynn wins.
