I admit I’m a little slow these days, so you all have probably already reached this conclusion. I was really surprised by Spensha’s making it into the top four, but today I remembered the duets were eligible for Twitter votes so I think being paired with Kyla really helped her this week.
Spensha was helped by Kyla, plus they had a great duet, however Britton didn’t seem to get the same bump by having Brynn as his duet partner. Spensha looked as good this week as she’s ever looked this entire season, imo (male perspective).
Just saw the results show on Hulu. I absolutely do not think Adam should have been given air time to stump for Britton after he sang for the save. Neither Kaleb or Pryor got the same luxury of having a competing coach gush. Granted, the other coaches still had skin in the game but that should not have been allowed. I don’t think it was the difference maker but it was disrespectful to the other 2 singers.
My team is down to Britton. But I am really not at all vested this year.
BTW, I seem to recall that in the first few seasons LOTS of singers sang Adele songs.
It wasn’t one of my fav Springsteen songs, nor an impressive rendition. I’m wishing Kyla has a chance somewhere.
Consolation, I remember this incredible Adele song performance a few seasons back, from Jordan Smith:
bookworm, I probably liked the song and rendition more than you did but, imo, the song was not a good fit for Britton’s voice.
I would like to hear Britton sing “I’m on Fire”, a Springsteen song better suited to him than “The Rising”, imo.
Here are tonight’s song SPOILERS:
Kyla Jade – Team Blake Shelton – The Last Tear written by Tommy Sims & Randy Goodrum
Kyla Jade – Team Blake Shelton – With a Little Help from My Friends by The Beatles
Kyla Jade & Blake Shelton – Only Love by Wynonna Judd
Brynn Cartelli – Team Kelly Clarkson – Walk My Way written by Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels & Nick Monson
Brynn Cartelli – Team Kelly Clarkson – Skyfall by Adele
Brynn Cartelli & Kelly Clarkson – Don’t Dream It’s Over by Crowded House
Spensha Baker – Team Blake Shelton – Old Soul written by Sam James, Marti Dodson & Kat Higgins
Spensha Baker – Team Blake Shelton – Merry Go Round by Kacey Musgraves
Spensha Baker & Blake Shelton – Tell Me About It by Tanya Tucker
Britton Buchanan – Team Alicia Keys – Where You Come From written by Britton Buchanan
Britton Buchanan – Team Alicia Keys – Good Lovin’ by The Rascals
Britton Buchanan & Alicia Keys – Wake Me Up by Avicii with Aloe Blacc
Looks like Britton will be performing an original of his. If you told me Kyla would be performing a Beatles song in back to back weeks, I would have thought you were nuts. Tanya Tucker trivia (since Spensha is singing a TT song): my wife and Tanya Tucker went to the same HS and were in the same class her freshman year, (the only year she attended Basic HS, Henderson NV).
Will be flying. Hope I can get the channel
Ok I’ve been watching. Anyone else?
I’m just not thrilled with the young’uns, cuz I’m getting old.
I think Brynn is someone who could be successful. I liked her “Skyfall.”
My order would be:
Kyla
Spensha./ Brynn (tie)
Britton
Kyla
Brynn
Spensha
Britton
I loved Britton’s org song.
It’s early, but I couldn’t help looking at the itunes ranking. Both Kyla and and Britton have two songs in the top 4.
I like the young ones. Just checked itunes and Britton’s original is at #1.
Watched all the performances on YouTube. No hyped coach comments, just the performances:
For me, no one nailed both their solo performances:
Britton
When I first heard Britton’s original song on iTunes I thought it was nice but not anything really special. But… then when you SEE him perform it, it really WAS pretty special. I really did not care for his Good Lovin’ performance. Thought it was too over the top. When he sees the replay, I think he will be wishing he dialed it back in parts. May have cost him the runner up spot.
Brynn
Liked Walk My Way. Neutral on Skyfall. I did not like the song choice and hope it does not cost her the win.
Spensha
Had a strong last couple three weeks now. She likely won’t win or be runner up, but she finished strongly. Especially liked Old Soul.
Kyla
I thought she over sang her opening Beatles song in parts. Overuse of the screaming big notes, imo. Then with her performance of The Last Tear, I did not think the song showcased her voice enough. I personally do not think she did enough to win with those 2 performances. I’m thinking either runner up or 3rd.
Here is my prediction:
1, Brynn
2. Kyla
3. Britton
4. Spensha

Hope that’s not a spoiler for West coast folks!
sevmom, Yes… SPOILER! If I wanted to be surprised, I wouldn’t have come on the thread before watching the show. I honestly hate a 2-hour results show, anyway, so thank you jonri. I doubt if I will watch the first hour, hour and a half when it becomes available on Hulu.
I thought Chloe sounded okay vocally (caught her performance on YouTube). I didn’t really love the song or the staging (too glossy). The song’s chorus probably bothered me the most. Curious to see how it charts on iTunes.
I believe a big congrats to REPEAT CHAMPION musicmerit is due, pending total points confirmation on Wednesday morning. Competing against you (and musicmom) is one of the things that make following the show so much fun for me.
