I have watched this season intermittently but my H is a big fan. He predicted a Brynn win a while ago. I liked Britton from the start. One thing I noticed, and not for the first time, is that when these contestants sing with established successful performers, it is almost always crystal clear how far they are from that level. Last night, as much as I love Britton, his song with Ryan Adams was the most obvious disparity.
Happy for Kelly and I think that she was a good mentor for a 14 year old and will likely continue to be.
Thanks! 2,863,000 points with Brynn and Kyla at the end. It does help to stick with early picks, but really it’s luck who keeps progressing. I do really like Brynn and hope she has continued success and is surrounded by good people.
My thoughts: ive watched the show off and on this season and enjoyed most of it. Question: do you guys think the right artist won? Was she a favorite of any of yours? Maybe next season i’ll play the game.
I finished with Brynn and Britton and 2,541,500 points.
I hate finale shows and kept switching back and forth to the baseball game. @jshain , if you just watch the last 20 minutes or so, you will be fine. I thought Jennifer Hudson was the best of the night and made even Kyla look like a…backup singer.
Looks like Kelly and Jennifer will be the female judges next season.
bgbg4us, For me, Brynn probably has the best change at future success. I feel her age was the biggest reason she won. Only 15 (may have been 14 during the Blinds) yet incredibly composed. Hope to see you next season.
I finished with 2,744,000 points. Congrats, musicmerit! You are our champion— once again. Having max day counts on the winner, 3rd place Kyla, and semi-finalist Jackie F. was very impressive.
Thanks to everyone who watched weekly, occasionally, and/or played on the app, It was a competitive, somewhat unpredictable season. Next season I am hoping they get rid of The Block and that Jennifer Hudson keeps both her shoes on.
I have to confess that Brynn’s singing doesn’t appeal to me at all. I didn’t like her blind audition. I watched a clip of her singing Walk My Way during the finale, which was supposedly so great, and I didn’t like anything about that, either.
Clearly, I was out of step on this one. Not unusual, though.
Thanks for the early heads up, musicmom. Set your DVR because Dancing With The Stars and Big Bang Theory also have their season premiers that same night. JHud is back. Hope musicmerit is ready to defend his/her title. Oh, almost forgot, it’s also my 30th wedding anniversary that same night.
Funny Voice-related story. Friend’s son performed duets with her at a place I shall not name. Afterwards, I went up to them and said to him “When are we going to hear you on The Voice?” He has a voice that I think would do well on the show, which is why I said it. He practically blanched with horror, which I thought was an odd reaction, to say the least, to a compliment. B-) Turns out he had actually auditioned for the show and was involved in the blind audition process in LA, and was sworn to secrecy! His mom had to assure him later that no, she had NOT given away the secret. We had a good laugh about it.
I don’t know how he fared. Yet. Haven’t wanted to ask!
As musicmom mentioned, season 15 premiers Monday 9/24. Here is a contestant list. Check out some of their work on the YouTube link. There is also a duo competing called One Up. I like Caeland Garner, Dave Fenley, Erika Zade, Hannah Kay, Josh Davis, Kayley Hill (reminds me of Jewel), and Sam Robbins. There’s also a couple (?) of 13-year-olds:
Per the rules of the forum, one can’t post links from Facebook. However, her Blind Audition is on YouTube, and since it was posted by NBCTheVoice, it is considered an authoritative source, so I can link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYIOadE_ztA
musicmom, I think posting a link using Facebook is a no-no. I was issued a warning when I included an Instagram link with my post #6194. I listened to her sing Hallelujah and the National Anthem on YouTube and she is really talented. Wonder who she picks as her coach? (Kelly!)
@jshain The rules for YouTube links follow the same rules as other links. So it’s not a blanket statement that all YT links are allowed or disallowed.
YouTube links from authoritative sources, including colleges, TV networks, etc. are allowed. YouTube links that are from a personal channel are essentially a vlog and would not be allowed.
The reason I edited out your earlier post was that in most cases (and I did not go through one by one) most of the links are to the contestants’ personal YouTube channels.
