I also moved up to the 500s. My whole team is max day counts at 71. So I guess I get more points than someone with three who have lower day counts.
I think there are some excellent performers this season, but Maelyn is head and shoulders above them all. Which means she won’t win, if the past is anything to go by.
I forgot to edit my team in time, so I’m down to Maelyn and Gyth. I’d like to have Mari, Oliv, or Sean also, but oh well.

I agree about Mari. I couldn’t hear the first 30 seconds of her song. At all. And I wasn’t even sure LB was singing in English. Couldn’t understand any of it.
So I think all of Blake’s country guys will cancel each other out and Maelyn may have a chance at winning! Or even Shawn.
NBC should call last night’s show “The bloodbath before the bloodbath”. This new format did not work too well for me. Wonder if they have any plans to change it next season?
Either NBC needs to cut Adam Levine loose or he needs to remove himself from the show. This is a huge embarrassment for both NBC and himself.

I am watching both AI and the Voice, but chose not to play along with the app this time. I totally messed up last season and didn’t know who was what on my team. (I tried a new approach that confused me. haha) I have never missed a season of AI. I wish the two did not overlap. I’ve tried to catch up on the Voice, but have not become attached to any of the performers. One of them is from my neck of the woods (I don’t know him or his family, though) so I am interested to see how well he does.
I have 2,774,500 points and dropped to 249. I’m guessing because I have Carter who auditioned later.
I completely agree that something needs to happen with Adam. He and the producers may have forgiven him for last season, but the fans have not forgotten. LB should have chosen John Legend as his coach after coming back.
The cross battles only pointed out how popular Blake is compared to the others.

It would be interesting to know if the cross battle results would be different if the voting was for the winner of each battle. That is what I was expecting.
I actually liked the cross battle format. I have never liked the coaches having to pit two of their own against each other. But something said above confused me: I thought that what mattered was whether you won or lost your battle, not how many votes you got compared to others. Was I wrong?
I’m always watching things at least a day late, but I was very disappointed in Oliv’s performance of Smooth Operator, and also in LB’s performance on Monday night. A lot of the others were meh. Shawn and Maelyn were great.
I really do not understand people who vote based on who the coach is. How cruel and unfair to the singers. Mari is much better than most of the guys on Blake’s team, IMNSHO, and the idea that people would punish her because Adam was a jerk last season is repugnant to me. I’ve always thought that Blake won a lot because he went with mostly middle-of-the-road singers and gave them mostly easy-to-digest songs. Cassaddee Pope, Danielle Bradberry, et al. Oh yeah, the little girl factor… (What really surprises me this season is his hanging with Kim and Oliv.)
Consolation, the viewers voted for who they thought won each cross battle but then the coaches each had one save and one steal to use on the eliminated artists.
Okay, that’s what I thought.
Consolation, a point that has been made when the Cross Battles first began was the way in which the votes were cast. For example, instead of the viewers voting for one or the other the assigned 1-10 votes for each artist. This suggests that these votes may somehow still be accumulated in determining a winner.
I also assumed when the singers were going against each other that they were competing for one spot. I think that would have been better. It really didn’t matter who they competed against, their own team or someone else.
During the cross battles you just voted for individuals. You could give the same amount of votes for both singers in the battle. The voting app did not even show who battled who. Just a list of all the singers.
I think my team may take a hit. Poor Carter took on a song way beyond his capabilities. I’ll be surprised if he makes the top 4.
Gyth did okay, I’ll be curious how his song choice goes over.
Maelyn was stunning in her Beatles duet. I haven’t heard her do her solo yet.
