Man, I must say I just love Darius Rucker. He and the band were also really nice they way they treated Gyth.
TS seems to be repeating herself. BTS holds no appeal for me, other than maybe gym music. TT was good, TK meh, perhaps because of the song. I like country music, but I have a really, really small tolerance for the whole “this is country” subgenre in which they list a bunch of stuff that makes them supposedly the real deal.
Sarah Mclachlan and Maelyn were indeed a pair of angels.
Glad Adam removed himself; it was a distraction from the show. I know he said he was joking with Blake, but it always seemed mean to me. He didn’t need to damage his reputation over some talent show.
I will miss the Adam-Blake banter. I know most of you won’t. Glad John will be returning. I wish it was Miley and not Gwen returning but the fact Blake and Gwen are a real life couple should make it fun, and funny. I’m betting Kelly keeps a young female around next season. I won’t predict a young female will win, however. That would mean a female, a young female, had won 3 of the past 4 seasons and a female had won 4 straight.
Adam was panned for throwing his own team member under the bus last season, and this year his team did poorly. Would bet he quit before he had trouble getting any new contestant to choose him as their coach.
When you earn $15 million per season, $30 million per year, don’t have a semi-finalist (not the first time), and ratings are fair at best, AND you are allegedly “difficult” in the tapings? This was not a hard decision for TPTB to make. To say a “mutual decision at best” is really giving Mr. Levine the benefit of the doubt.
I’m watching the new season of the Australian edition of The Voice which started last week,and there’s a twist. Mixed amongst the contestants are what the producers are terming “All Stars”- former contestants that did not win previous seasons of The Voice or who appeared on Australia’s Got Talent, Australian Idol, etc.
So my plea to NBC, Mark Burnett, et.al: please in the name of all that is good and holy, donot import that twist to the US.
According to one of the spoiler blogs I read, the Cross Battles will not be making a Comeback next season. Now if they’d just get rid of the Comeback Stage.
I haven’t watched for the last several seasons, but maybe I’ll at least start this one. I just had to look up the judges. It will be Blake, Gwyn, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend.
